Protecting broadcast equpment!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have been using the APS systems of this size for a number of years. They redesign the front panel and displays, but the quality for us remains good. Our studios have (2) full racks of equipment in our transmitter room, and each one is protected by APC. (see in lower left of attached pictures. ) In our case, this latest unit is deployed to protect our AM processing, stereo Automatic Gain Control, system monitor, and metering. It gives us plenty of run time should our generator not kick in quickly in a grid outage. We should note that one of the reasons we choose the APCs is for their automatic voltage regulating circuits, not JUST the backups. When you buy a unit with AVR, sensitive electronics are protected from the slightest overage or underage which can affect them. Also, contrary to some beliefs, when you know the total wattage you will use and have a rack system like we do, many of the units are low-wattage/low consumption, and it IS okay to use a long bench-style power strip to distribute more power UP through the rack if the supplied amount of outlets is not enough on the APC UPS. Note I didn't say a second surge protector, rather just a long multi-outlet strip that can serve items in the top of the rack. This gives us more protected outlets for fans, small signal amplifiers, USB devices, etc. APC is being utilized in all our studios and this particular unit in our engineering department with no problems. The ONE time we had an issue with an in-warranty UPS, they shipped one to us right away with no issue, which is why we keep the factory check paperwork attached to each one for date of manufacture and test info should we be asked. You won't go wrong with these units, or others from APC of similar build.

Good UPC device, estimates runtime on screen.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent 1500VA UPS. I use it to keep the internet modem, router, and switch running when the power goes out. I only load it to 21 watts, so I get 3 hours of run time to keep the wireless internet running off battery. Has USB on the front for charging your phone. You can connect it to a Windows PC using the APC software to further configure it. If you have sensitive electronics, you can set it to be more sensitive for brown outs or when the line voltage drops just a little. Default sensitivity is medium, but you may want it set to more sensitive for computer equipment or internet routers. Runs quiet. After a power outage, will recharge within a day. Easy to replace battery from side panel. Display shows how many estimated minutes you have on battery based on your current power usage. This is the reason I got this one. Also easily displays current battery charge amount.

Keeps an FM signal on the air!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our radio station operates an FM translator which runs on 110 volt or 220, we choose the 110. When we upgraded from a smaller transmitter on an older APC unit, we wanted the same brand. The capacity of this one can handle the load of the new FM transmitter and some other minor rack equipment, and while it's loaded to above 90 percent, it is not complaining in any way, and the 3 minutes of approximate run-time at this load is more than enough time for our generator to fire-up if we lose grid power. APC's warranty is excellent, and they stood by it when we had one unit go bad,and promptly received a replacement. I have nothing but good things to say about the APC products and their service.

Protection you hope you never need.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older APC that I have used for years. This is a nice upgrade. Day 1, last night, lightening strike very close. Power blinked. I heard the unit click on. Seamless along with piece of mind to continue using it during the storm.

Nice features on a APC UPS 1500
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for my remote home office to provide power to my cable modem and wireless router if there is a power outage. This gives me a peace of mind and convenience that I can continue on working until power is restored.

Great device for protecting sensitive electronics.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During a power outage (which I have already experienced) this UPS will power just my router for way more than 2 hours. Add my TV, and Nvidia Shield with external hard drive, it will go for about 55 minutes. A+ I am glad I purchased this device.

Good, but could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well, but all the outlets are right next to each other, and most of my electronics use a converter. Would nice to be able to rotate 90° so the converter block wouldn’t block adjacent outlets.

Q: QuestionIs this a true sine wave, or pure sine wave UPS? Or is this one of the other types?
Asked by jefferson970.
- A:Answer Thank you for your inquiry. This unit would be a pure sine wave while online but it would have a step approximated sine wave while on battery. If you need a completely pure sine wave UPS you may want to consider our BR1500MS which would be a pure sine wave on and off battery.

Q: QuestionYour description and images lack pertinent information. How many receptacles does this unit have? Either state how many receptacles are on the back of the unit, or simply place an image of the rear of the machine.
Asked by AmericanLegion.
- A:Answer There are 10 outlets. Of these, 6 are battery backup, and surge protected, 4 are surge only.

Q: QuestionWhere can i find a replacement battery for this UPS? The APC website does not even list this Model: BN1500M2. I can not even find this model anywhere for a replacement battery.
Asked by Battery.
- A:Answer Thank you for inquiry. The replacement battery for the BN1500M2 is an APCRBC161. It likely isn't showing up anymore because the unit is new product family and shouldn't need a battery replacement. If you have purchased this unit and it is showing that the battery need replaced please reach out to an APCbySchneider support team since this unit would come with a 3 year warranty on it.

Q: QuestionHow much can it last with 2 computers and 2 monitors?
Asked by Question.
- A:Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The runtime would depend on how much power the computers and monitor draw. If they drew around 450 watts together it would bring the runtime to about 10 minutes. If the power draw is lower than the runtime will higher and if the power draw is higher the runtime will be shorter. You would just want to make sure that the computers don't draw over 900 watts of power so the UPS doesn't become overload.

Q: QuestionIs it okay to keep it on it's side? Or does it need to be vertical?
Asked by CAT999.
- A:Answer We've used a few of them on their side for years without issue, whether that's officially recommended or not I'm not sure.

Q: QuestionCan the UPS communicate with my Windows Desktop and perform a controlled shutdown automatically if running on battery power when the batteries are almost depleted?
Asked by Tesla.
- A:Answer Yes if you use the supplied cable and install the software, it will shut your computer down before batteries die.

Q: QuestionHow many minutes up time when power goes out
Asked by Joe.
- A:Answer Depends on what you have hooked up, My home network equipment (a couple switches and an AP) can run on one of these for over 100min. If I have my Dell workstation running (8700k/1080ti) it has 28-38min.

Q: QuestionWill this work to help clean power from a portable generator to a entertainment center.
Asked by Bhuels.
- A:Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. It would clean up the power coming from the generator but you may need to drop the sensitivity on the UPS down to low so it doesn't stay on battery the entire time while the generator is running. Sometimes if the generator power is too dirty it will keep the UPS on battery.
