A: The 55" enclosure weighs 45 lbs, so with a standard 55" TV, which weighs almost the same, you just need a ceiling mount the would support 150% of the total weight. In this case a maximum weight load of 150 lbs would work.
Q: Is this protection for an indoor television to be used outside?
A: Apollo enclosures were designed to protect any indoor TV in the outdoor elements. You need to verify the maximum size TV each model enclosure can hold for the best fit, as well as purchasing the right model for your application. If you are installing in partial sun (no direct exposure of sun on the screen) the standard Elite line is perfect. If the enclosure is installed with any direct sun on the screen, purchase the direct sun models that include features such as IR film to shield the TV from harmful UV and IR rays as well as a secondary airflow system in the front cover to stream air between the TV and the glass further protecting your TV from solar loading.
