Nice addition to the gameroom, but could be better

Attractive cabinet and entertaining games. You can unlock additional games from playing the programmed ones, which is a little silly for a hoe edition game that is free to play in the first place, games should just all be available from the get-go. Cabinet is narrow from front to back so it is a bit unstable, and the control panel could stand to be pitched toward the user instead of completely flat top. All-in-all, a good purchase.

Should be 5 stars, but poor prebuild out of box

For what it is, I'd normally give it a 5 star rating. I recently got rid of my real slot machine (goldfish 2) which was over 300lbs and had a lot of problems with it. This seemed like a nice replacment for that slot machine gameplay experience. (Other than I can no longer tell my neighbors they can play if they bring their own cash jk). The four games it starts off with are good. I like the variety of styles. Some are more luck based until you run out of credits and others are timed to solve a puzzle within 3 minutes. And in all cases, for leaderboard stats it's based on 1 credit until you run out. So it's not like you can keep putting in coins and keep playing to rack up a higher score than someone playing a less amount of time. So I like that feature. I've only unlocked one game so far with 30 gems and that's an interesting concept to keep you playing. So first impressions I feel there is good replay value. Being a long time Arcade1up first adopter and owning several machine, it is expected to have blemishes, chips, and other minor physical damage on the units. Compared to my other cabs, this one seemed to have the least amount of blemishes to the wood panels. The build time is much less too since all you really have to build is the stand.. The casinocade itself you just attach the screen to the control deck with some wood dowels and screw it in. Then use a lbracket to secure the marquee to the top. At that point you can play it on a table without even assembling the stand. So it can double as a countercade or standup cab. The fact a bulk of it is pre-assembled would normally add another star. However in my case, the control desk buttons were not installed correctly. I attached a photo so you can see it.. But basically when I first tried to play it, I thought the coin button was broken. When I pressed it, nothing would happen. I eventually found the buttons were not in the correct position but one. The -BET was correct. But to insert coin, you'd press +Bet. If you wanted to use the actual +bet, you press BET MAX. If you wanted to press BET MAX, you'd actually press "Coin In".. Try explaining that to someone coming over to play for the first time :) So that is the reason for one of the minus stars.. The other one is where the top LCD screen is, there are particals on the inside of the laminant protection making it look like black dots all over the screen. They're mostly small but once you see them they're very distracting. Almost like dead pixel situation but just tiny pieces of partical board wedged behind there with no easy access to try to clear it out. That's how I recevied the unit out of box for the second star removal. The pre-assembly was poorly done and clearly wasn't paying attention to details. The good thing is both those issues can be fixed just will involve more disassembly and have to make sure not to void the warranty, but that's the main reason for my star deductions. As far as the games go so far and slot machine experience goes, it does a good job. Even the volume of the bonus games are louder than the main game just like a real slot machine. The flashing LEDs around the screen distract from the actual size of the screen and makes it look like part of the overall experience so it doesn't stand out about how small the screen is. The last three games have the best visuals as in looking "60 frames per second" with the animations. First one seemed like 30 or less and kind of choppy at times but the rest are crisp and smooth. None of the games are installed either so when you go to play them for the first time, prepare to wait a bit to have them downloaded and installed. Same for the unlocked games later on. Overall I would recommend it if you like slot and mobile style games, just know if you get a flawless cab out of box, those a dime a dozen and consider yourself lucky :)

    Terrible QA…

Arcade machine works but 3 of the buttons were wired wrong at the factory. Good thing I have had experience working on arcade cabinets before or this would have been a return. This Cabinet is easier to put together than a lot of Arcade 1up’s other ones but there is still a decent amount of work if you want to place the unit on the base. Nice being able to use it as a bartop if you want to go that route though.
