- A: AnswerNo, you would still need an ISP (internet service provider) with a modem. This router would connect to said modem to share the internet connection with your household. If you use the router without a modem you would have a local network that cannot access the internet.

Do not buy this router
Disappointed in the performance of the load Balance/ dual wan features. I mean who wants to run load balancing when you can't even have firewall protection while doing so? I guess doesn't have enough ram to do both. Furthermore, I received my router on January 3rd and I work out of town all week and was going to return the router this weekend because it's basically useless to me now and Best buy says it's non-returnable and I am a Best buy plus member. I'm just sick that I'm stuck with this thing. It's seriously going to get thrown in the trash I guess.

Router is plagued with deauth and deassoc errors.
This router is no bueno as they say. Unauth and deassoc. errors rule this router. and it'll drop connection at least once a day. sometimes many times a day. my first review was taken down... not sure why. just google asus deauth deassoc errors and you'll get plenty results. asuswrt merlin software not availalble for this model of asus either. if i could go back in time i would not of choose this router.

Highly recommend as a Wifi 6e router
Amazing! Easier to setup and manage than the Netgear I had. Haven't even had to reboot it since setting it up. Has 2.4g, 5g, and 6g. No windows app, but has one for mobile and web.
