This router works, right out of the box. Absolutely no issues. I upgraded from my decade old RT-AC87U. It served very well considering it was putchased in 2014! This router is the exact same thing as the RT-BE88U. I dont know why Best Buy had to be different with the RT-BE7200 model number, but they are the same thing. It complicates price match because some people do not understand that they are the same, but its obvious. The router sets up very quickly with the asus app. You have to enable ipv6, security, etc, but everything worked fine right out of the box. Looks sleek and I really like that the heat dissipates ABOVE the device to the open air. Heat rises, great! Be sure to use the asus app to do the initial setup. One firmware upgrade and it’s smart to do that before optimizing the network, so thats great! High speeds, minus the 6Ghz band. Its fine, it just needed to replace the RT-AC87U and wow what an upgrade it is! Everytjing connected and i just turned off the extra IoT network, don’t need it. Maybe I’ll turn it back on for the other random IoT devices, but it probably wouldn’t work since its a separate network from your main network (similar to a guest network). This router gets the job done in all the ways that matter! So glad I now have a stable wifi connection at home once again!! Thank you ASUS!!

Money well spent. 4 x 2.5gb ports 4 x 1gb ports 10gb wan plus 1 sfp port for 10GB. Using ax router was onlu getting 650-750mb on a 1gb connection upgraded to this and immediately hit 1011mb immediatly wanted another for a whole home mesh network. Be careful because WPS3 security isnt availiable on some devices like firestick so you will need to swap it to wps2 personal. I was having issues with AX router buffering and picture quality fluctuating between 1080p and 480p and 4k didnt want to work at all on main tv. This router fixed the issue.

Got the RT BE88U to replace a 4+ year old TP-L AX1800 router that stopped receiving updates a year and a half ago. My ISP plan is 800/20 Mbps, but was noted that 915 mbps down was possible, so most routers are overkill. I decided to futureproof a bit and went with a Wifi 7 router. We don't have any wifi congestion issues, so a router with better 5 Ghz/2.4 Ghz performance was most important to me. My old 1800 Mbps router, wirelessly, would get 650 Mbps, at best, close to the router. I'm getting 940 Mbps wirelessly through the BE88U. Setup was easy. Wish the app settings layout matched the browser UI. Some setting options cause the router disconnect and reconnect when you change them. Great security/protection/parental control options (no subscriptions needed), and Adblock is baked into the router. My house was built in the 1950s, so no wiring. Got my daughter a gaming laptop for Xmas, her bedroom is the furthest part of the house from the main router. I was using a mesh extender with the old router to cover that part of the house, but she was getting lagging/latency playing things like Roblox. Due to no wiring the BE88U is in the opposite corner of the house, so while 2.4 Ghz coverage was fine, I still needed to extend the coveage for that part of the house for the faster 5 Ghz speeds. I wanted to stay in the Asus BE family for AiMesh, but Asus' BE extender isn't out yet. I wanted something a little more robust than a extender anyway, so I also got an Asus RT BE58U router for the other side of the house. That solved my daughters issues, her bedroom now gets over 300 Mbps on 5 Ghz, whereas with the old router/extender it was getting just under 100 Mbps with a lot of latency. The only non-issue I've had is my kitchen gets around the same signal strengeth from both routers so when running a speed test I was still connected to the AiMesh node when I expected to connected to the main router. We'll be upgrading Wifi 7 capable phones over the next year, so I'll play around with those features then.
