Customers are delighted by the Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration for its nostalgic value and the inclusion of old games they grew up with. The compilation is considered the new standard for how compilations should be made, and the steelbook packaging is beautiful. Customers are also impressed with the interviews, which they say are amazing.

The Games is good. The packaging is bad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to say about the games, 103 games Atari classics from 50 years, including some remakes. The jaguar classic Cyber Morph aka "Where did you learn to fly?"The sleeve for the Steelcase is the wrong size and i could barely take it out. I had to break the sleve.

Perfect compilation
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not only is a collection of Atari's earlier games, but a comprehensive look at the history of the company. The game will have you watching interviews with creators of these classic games before you can move on to unlock the next game. Well worth cost of admission. My only complaint with this collector's edition is the packaging. The slipcover doesn't quite fit over the steelbook case, so it will be a chore to get it off without damaging the slip. I was able to take mine off carefully (took some time), but can't get it back on in fear of damaging it.

An unexpected journey of memories.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grew up playing the Atari at my cousins in the early 80s before getting my NES in '86. This entire collection was a walk down memory lane I didn't expect, with a few bonuses thrown in for good measure such as remastered games and even the illfated Jaguar! Try it out if you have even the slightest nostalgia.

Reliving my youth
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been a big Atari fan, having used their products from back in the days of the standalone home Pong machines, ranging up to their very last console, the Jaguar, and that included owning one of just about every device in between. This 50 year anniversary collection has a decent selection of titles from just about every Atari platform during that time, including tons of console and arcade classics, as well as a few newer games that were written as tributes to games from the past. This title includes a timeline that gives a nice history lesson as well as insights from various insiders, along with the chance to play both your favorites and games that you never had a chance to back in the day. About the only thing missing here is software that was published on the Atari ST line of computers, but considering that Atari themselves didn't publish many games on their 16 bit computers, this is hardly a surprise. Really, it's hard to find any faults with this well put-together title.

Atari at it's best at 50!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Atari at it's best. This collection is amazing AND the steel case is next level! Beware, the steel case is in a paper cardboard sleeve and fits very tight. I do not remove it from it a lot. This is a very nice item to add to your collection!

It's a good game, but removes some games
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is great, but they screwed up with the cardboard sleeve, it's too small for the steelbook. Getting it off was a pain and if you try to put it back on, removing it a second time is just as difficult as the first time. I really wish they made the cardboard sleeve just a little bit wider. The biggest downside though is some games such as Bowling from the previous release were removed from this release, so you can't just sell off the old one if you have it, you need to keep both to play all the games both offer.

Awesome compilation!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lot of compilation games exist these days but the historic journey you'll go through with interviews and design notes is unlike any other! The steelbook is beautiful too!
