A: Yes the SL-1 does video. Paired with the 40 mm super quiet lens for about $149 you get fast focusing and smooth action.
Q: Will this camera except the old cannon 35mm lens?
A: Yes - all Canon EF lenses work. I have lenses from my Canon EOS Rebel 2000 that I got 17 years ago that work perfectly on this camera.
Q: Does it have a flip out screen?
A: No it does not, though the screen is still quite nice and it is a touch screen. But no flip out.
Q: Does this come with a battery and charger?
A: In reading the description of the included items, I noticed the package DOES come with a battery pack and charger.
Q: Is there a lens that comes with the camera or is the lens a separate purchase?
A: This is for the camera body only.

A: Not for nothing but if you read it say body at the start If you have canon lenses You maybe able to use one of them as long as they are auto focus. Or just buy the one that comes with the 18-55 lense
