To HP : Goodbye and good riddance !
Posted .I have had HP printers for years. After having two HP's crash and burn in the last three years, we decided it was time for a change. Besides, I got REAL tired of all the garbage software you had to load just to get the HP drivers (plus those annoying "low ink" reminders" with the pop-up link to the HP store. Anyway, after a bunch of research, I decided this time to go with the Canon MP560. We have 5 computers (we have teenagers....) : 2 Desktops: 1 XP (with added wireless card), 1 Win-7 2 Laptops: 1 Vista, 1 Win-7 1 Netbook: Win-7 So... all of the last three versions of Windows are represented in the set-up process. All 5 machines are set up on a home network using a Netgear router. We got the Canon MP560 and it was up and running wirelessly on all 5 machines in less than an hour (no Geek Squad needed). We had only one real "problem" : The netbook didn't have a CD drive, so we had to load the drivers from the Canon website. Other than that, everything worked great. The directions are very easy to follow. DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THE STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS!!! Once you have the printer set up on the machine to which your wireless router is attached, add the printer to the other machines using the "add pinter" function of Windows and follow the directions. NOTE: on the main machine, make sure you change the settings to enable the printer to be shared with others on the network. The document and photo print quality is great and the printer is very quiet (compared my old HP's). The scanner and copier work a little slow, but heck... it's not a 100 ppm office printer. One added benefit is I get to free up space on my desktop (the REAL one, not the Windows one) because the printer can be placed anywhere in the house (near an outlet and within range of the router). This is a great product and I am now completely sold on Canon wireless multi-function printers. So... goodbye and good riddance to HP!!!

great printer!!!
Posted .It's a great printer, high print quality, many features, and definitely worth for the money. I am very happy that I bought it. HP was acturally my first choice, right before I bought this canon, I bought a HP photo printer, but it's not working, so I returned it and thought it might be the time to try some other brand. The canon I got is amazing, I love it. it get a lot of features, very good quality and very easy to install and use. the only minior problem is that it's not as fast as HP but still good enough. anyway, I am so happy that I give canon a shot!

Excellent printer
Posted .I have had this printer for about 6 months now and it's the best I've used by far. I print ALOT of photos and have had many compliments on the color as well as the quality. It's easy to use right out of the box. Very simple instructions and it comes with all the ink cartridges. There is a main screen that gives you options of what you want to do (print, scan, copy) and the interface is very simple. The memory card slots are great as I have several cameras that use different types. I've never had an issue with the readers. Don't expect a fast copy. It takes a couple of minutes to get started when its been turned off. It also takes about a minute to start printing the photo but the printing time for an 8x10 is rather quick. The scanner works well too, although if you want to scan older photos a separate scanner would be better. But for scanning recent photos or documents it works fine. This printer/scanner is definantly worth the money.

Good with a few minor flaws
Posted .Quality of this printer is amazing. I snapped a pic from my garden of an orange poppy with somewhat poor lighting then printed it out on the sample photo paper included with the packaging. The colors just seem to come to life and are very vibrant... I couldn't have asked for better quality. The scanner/copier is another awesome feature that I'm not used to having in my home. It's already come in handy though when I needed to make a copy of my medical insurance card before an appointment so I'm glad it's there for me to use. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because though it does print fairly quickly, the warm-up time is a little lagging. Not too important to me but others may want to know. Set up was also a little tedious and I'm having trouble recognizing it on my network by other computers. This could be my inexperience though so please do not let that dissuade you from purchasing this little gem.

excellent for $99 (on sale)
Posted .i just love this printer....i got it on sale for $99 at best buy. prints quietly, fast enough with 8x11.5 and the prints are excellent.( i take photos with a canon eos 7d)...better than when you go to walmart or cvs or walgreens to have your pictures printed!!!! very near professional printing!!! however, ink runs pretty fast especially with 8x11 color photos..( still managed to print 40 larges and 30 small before the yellow run out) one advice; if you are going to print pictures, use the canon pro platinum paper ( a little more expensive, but it is really worth it) set-up is easy, and printing excecution is easy!!!! seriously: BUY IT!!!

Great quality printer
Posted .I love the convienence of wireless printing. I'm a busy college student and a mother so I can take my laptop anywhere throughout the house and print my documents without connecting my computer to any cords. I also like the option of being able to load a decent amount of paper into the loading dock. Many of the documents I print off are over 20 pages long. Therefore, I'm not constantly running to my printer to reload paper during any of my projects. I love the price of the ink cartriidges and the opportunity of buying them at a local store and not ordering them online. The display screen is also very helpful. I can easily navigate through the screens when I need to make a copy or scan a document.

This unit prints beautiful photos and I'm a pro.
Posted .My company does air to air aviation photos. When I want to print a photo I expect it to look great. This printer does a very nice job and the prints look professional. I just got it so I don't know how they hold up to sunlight. It prints fast in the highest photo mode and the prints seem come out pretty dry, The scanner is fast and accurate. I scan slides and photos. I've only used the copier once, in black & white, and the copy was as good as the original. I recommend this unit!

Great inexpensive multifunction printer/copier/etc
Posted .Inexpensive, easy to setup in wireless mode, every wireless computer in the house can use it, good print/copy/scan quality, good color photo printing. Wireless transmission and printing are a little slow but who cares for home use or light office use? For heavy office use, buy a faster printer. Scan feature is great for scanning documents to send via email. Beats faxing. Been using for two and a half months with no problems. A little known feature is that the ink-jet heads are in a replaceable cartridge; should they give out or clog up, you can replace without having to buy a new printer.
