Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Coming from a corded gaming headset, the Corsair Virtuoso wireless gaming headset is a welcome upgrade. I’ve had great experiences with the Corsair brand so I figured I try their new high-end headset. Out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice is the premium build quality. The headset doesn’t look or feel cheap. This is also one of the best sounding gaming headset out of all the one’s I’ve owned. I got this on sale for $140 (white model) which is a great price. Initially, I had trouble with the volume being low while connected on the PS4 pro even after maxing it out. But after updating the firmware on both the headset and the wireless dongle, it resolved that issue. After the update, there were 2 instances that the headset turned off while wirelessly connected to the PS4 pro while gaming. I resolved it by taking the headset off my head and putting it back on. I’m guessing it’s the auto sleep function that’s abnormally kicking in when it shouldn’t be. However, I didn’t have this issue when I had the headset wired to the PS4 pro. But I’m sure Corsair will come out with an update for this issue. Lastly, I’d like to mention that this headset has its own proprietary wireless dongle. Meaning, it doesn’t connect via Bluetooth but thru RF to the wireless dongle it comes with. I bought this strictly for gaming so it doesn’t bother me. Overall, it’s a great wireless headset! It isn’t perfect but it has all the functions that I like and has my approval as far as sound quality goes.

Very nice set of wireless gaming headphones
Very nice set of wireless gaming headphones
Posted .These headphones have an amazing sound to them. What I noticed is that I was able to hear so many little background noises while using them and that was so cool. Whether in music, or gaming, the most subtle sounds can be heard when you know in the past you didn't hear those same sounds. They come with the USB transmitter to use them as wireless (They are not bluetooth, you need the USB transmitter to make them wireless), along with a nice boom microphone for talking (which the light is green if talking, when you tap the mute button, the light at the end turns red). A 3.5mm to 3.5mm patch cable is included so you can plug directly into a headphone jack of an iPod or phone that has this jack to play music through these. Battery life is good, although I haven't been on line long enough to run them all the way yet to know exactly how long the battery will last. But whether playing music, games, etc. these are a winner! The lights on the outside of the ear pieces are the icing on the cake. And this does come with a micro USB charging cable (transformer not included) for easy charging even while you are listening. The software they have is only WIN compatible, not MAC. I found a MAC beta version, but it isn't compatible with these headphones. When I downloaded the WIN version, I was able to control aspects of these like an equalizer. I don't think they need it, but you can do it none-the-less. The built in volume dial is handy to adjust the volume from the headset.

Near perfect headset, even with eyeglasses
Near perfect headset, even with eyeglasses
Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, Features, Set upThe Corsair Virtuoso RBG wireless headphones in white look absolutely fantastic and very high-end. I have shown them to my friends, and they are very jealous of the looks of these things and I must keep them locked away when they come over (kidding), but in all honesty they are really impressed with the looks. Just about every aspect of these headphones screams premium build quality and they feel very durable and comfortable on my head. I wear glasses and I really prefer a light headset for comfort, and this meets both of those top requirements for me. The headphones have just 11 different adjustment settings per side and I was easily able to find the perfect setting for my head. The amount of tension is just perfect as well and as I mentioned earlier, even with my glasses on I had no issues. The icue software is a hefty download at just over 350 MB and the install requires 980 MB. This will allow you to customize the sound more and there are some presets that you can use as well. You can also adjust the lighting effects of the headphone. Color and different pluses and modes are what you can choose from. I was looking for a way to disable the microphone LED since I find it a bit distracting while playing games, but I was not able to find a way to do that. Fortunately, you can remove the microphone and that solves my problem, unless I want to voice chat which I rarely do. There is a feature to toggle between stereo sound and 7.1 surround sound, both of which sound good. If you don’t want to use the software you can just plug in the USB dongle into your PC, PS4, or Xbox and it will just work. Overall, I am very impressed with these and they are a bit on the expensive side, but they are not the most expensive on the market and I find them to be a great value. Pros: Fit Sound Adjustments Great with eyeglasses Cons: A little pricey Microphone LED Software download and install size

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Color, DesignI started off with the wireless Void Pro RGB headset (white) because all my friends talked about how the quality was great. I liked the way I sounded with the mic and the sound was nice, but it fit my head too big (I’m a small-sized girl). I liked the headset but was worried about how it didn’t fit me properly. But then I saw this one and I exchanged the void pro for this one and boy am I soooo happy! The first thing that made me get it was the color, since it matches my keyboard and mouse perfectly (they’re both the same color scheme: aluminum and white). I was also interested in the shape of the ear cuffs, and was hoping it would fit me better. I’m really happy with the fit because it fits my head so perfectly!! My ears fit comfortably in the cuffs as well, and the cuffs are so soft so it’s much more comfortable than the void pro’s. Since these fit me properly, I also noticed that the noise cancellation was pretty good for it as well. It’s not 100% canceled out, but it does a great job at it. I also enjoy the fact it has the 3.5mm jack as well, in case I want to use it with my PS4! The only thing that I don’t like was that I can’t really turn off the RGB from the iCUE software so I’m afraid it’ll drain my battery. The upside to that is that it comes with a Type C charging cable so at least it’ll charge very quickly. So far, the battery life seems great, my friends say the mic quality is still really good, and it’s overall very comfortable on my head and ears. It’s a bit pricey but I’m very pleased with the upgrade from the Void Pro!

Almost Perfect, So many Connections
Almost Perfect, So many Connections
Posted .Pros mentioned:Ease of use, FeaturesThe Corsair Virtuoso is a great all-around headset. Sound quality is pretty great, but not as heavy on the bass as many would like. I was a little surprised considering my experience with gaming headsets, they tend to err on the side of being overly bass heavy. Still I really like the sound profile on these and you can make them sound even better. More on that in a minute. Build Quality - These are some seriously well-buit headphones. When you pull them out of the box the first thing you notice is the weight, they're heavy, almost too heavy, certainly heavier than any other gaming headset I've used. Fortunately the earcups and headrest are covered with a soft thick foam. The foam conforms nicely to your head, ears, and face but it took me a full 10 minutes or so before they really settled. After that they were very comfortable, very easy to wear for hours at a time. Performance - Sound performance is very good as an all-around headset but may be a little lacking in bass for some people. You can customize your EQ to remedy that, more on that later, or crank the volume, but the Virtuoso simply doesn't thump the way I'd expect a gaming headset in this price range. The bass is very crisp and accurate, but again it might not be what you're looking for. The highs and mids are very clear without seeming overpowering. Overall I really like the sound profile on these. They seem better tuned for voice chat, playing games, and watching media. Music still sounds great but yeah, not for the bassheads. Connections - The virtuoso charges via usb type-C (included in the box) which is a huge win for me. All my devices use usb-c so I only have to keep one cable around for all of my needs. Simple. The mic plugs in via keyed usb port on the left ear cup which also houses the charging/pc connect cable. The right cup houses your 3.5mm connection, volume up and down, and on/off toggle. Connecting via usb C will not only charge your headset, but also allow you to update firmware settings. Oh and you also get full 24bit 96khz audio over direct connection. So yeah, that bass issue? Not an issue. I'm currently listening to some lossless music over usb and it sounds incredible. It's a shame you can't get this same quality on wireless but, it is what it is. Overall I like the variety of connections you have available, having options is nice. The Mic - the mic is easily the best feature of these headphones. The virtuoso has the best on-set mic I've ever used. I did a side by side test in audacity, recording the same dialogue and the virtuoso blew away my other 3 headsets hands down. Voice is rich and full and accurate. It's not "broadcast quality" as corsair claims, but it's very very good. Love the mic, perfect for long video conference sessions or long gaming sessions. RGB - There are 2 large corsair logos on either earcup which light up. The RGB logo looks nice, very bright and clear, but yeah it's a little silly. Still I find myself liking it. You can customize the colors to your heart's content in the iCUE software. Speaking of ... Software - A lot of products live and die by their software and the virtuoso is no different. the iCUE software is pretty easy to use but, full disclosure, it's been on my system for years as I use other corsair products. You can customize lighting effects, your EQ settings and a bunch of other stuff. This is also where you update your device firmware. Cons?? - The first one is the placement for the charging cable. If you're charging your headphones and using them at the same time, or you just want that higher quality audio, this is a major annoyance. The cable juts out of the left earcup at an awkward angle that pushes it directly into my shoulder. It feels like the cable is constantly being tugged on, and is it rubs up against you sound gets transmitted from the cable to the earcup. It's just bad placement. I wish they'd moved this over to the right earcup, but whatever. That's it for me really. I'm in love with everything else. There's a little section in the software that allows you to hear outside sounds which I completely love. I know we all like to escape and be isolated from time to time, but it's great to be able to know if my dog is getting up to mischief or some delivery driver is knocking quietly at my door. There are a lot of cool little features buried in the software so definitely spend your time getting acquainted with it. Overall the Virtuoso is the perfect headset for most people. The bass is noticeably weaker over wireless, but unless you're diehard basshead I wouldn't let that stop you from buying one of the best headsets on the market. It has nearly perfect sound with the best on-set mic you'll find.

High end @ a bargain price!

Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, FeaturesThe headset feels like it should be about double the price, the overall look and feel are first rate. The ear cups and headband are nicely padded. I have an average to large size head and they’re comfortable, not the most comfortable I’ve worn, but very comfortable. Connectivity between the wireless usb dongle and the headset has been instant and very stable, wether I’m gaming on a pc or a PS4 across the room. They sound better than any other headset I’ve owned (wired or wireless),especially when it comes to game chat. I don’t notice much difference between 7.1 and stereo, if anything I like using them in stereo a little better. When using in 7.1 they sound a little hollow to me. Probably one of my favorite features is the light on the mic, green for on and red for off. It’s so easy to know if you’re mic is on or off. It’s awesome they use USB-C also, it’s almost 2020 so everything should! They can also be used on devices such as an iPad with a USB-C to USB-C cable for audio. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jacket cable so it can be used that way also. The Corsair Virtuoso hold their own against any of the competition out there!

Real Good Really

Posted .Pros mentioned:Color, Ease of useExtremely light weight, you barely notice you have them on after a short period. The ear cups are not too tight and feel quite comfortable over your ears with or without glasses on. The sound is really quite good, even in wireless mode. You have the option of wired (USB or Stereo cable) or wireless using the USB dongle that comes with it. The recharging is over USB Type C connecting to headphones and USB A on the PC side. There is a toggle to switch between wired and wireless connection on the headphones. You can charge while using them. They will work with only the audio cable even if no power. Headphone controls are simple and straight forward with a roller for the volume. Bass is at a good level with decent mids and highs. The presets on the equalizer are Pure Direct, Movie Theater, FPS Competition, Clear Chat and Bass Boost. You have stereo and surround 7.1 options. I have a couple screen shots uploaded to see the ICUE app and the options in it. The app allows you to also customize the color of the RGB and the variations like rainbow, pulse, etc. similar to the Corsair mouse and keyboards. The mic does a respectable job, no better nor worse than any other headset. Overall, these are a really great set of headphones with good sound and are extremely comfortable.

Great headphones.
Great headphones.
Posted .Pros mentioned:Color, Ease of useI always thought Corsair was know for their memory modules. Looks like they did well with these headphones. These headphones can either work as hardwired or wireless. It comes with a USB dongle for wireless connection and and wires for wired connection. Microphone is detachable so that was a cool option. The ears and mic light up when in use. It fits nice over the ears and is comfortable during game play and use. Wireless rang is pretty good. I was able to walk to the kitchen while I was playing to run and grab a drink and it did not drop my connection. I used these headphones on PC windows 10 based games. It connected and recognized the headphones right away. Controls where easy to use. Battery life is great. Color is nice. I also tried them using chat apps and they worked well too. I would recommend these headphones. Nicely done.
