A: Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. Danby DDR020BJWDB-ME has a Smartmode designed to automatically adjust the humidity level with the fluctuating room temperatures which will stabilize between 45% - 55% humidity level. It runs ON and OFF whenever needed. This model also has the gravity draining option using a standard garden hose and female threaded end for continuous draining of water. Hope this helps. Thank you. A: Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. The garden hose should be cut so that it is no more than 1.8 m (6 feet) long. If the drain hose is too long water may not drain completely which can lead to stagnant water and mildew build up inside the hose. Thank you
