Pretty good action series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bayonetta and its sequel were two of the greatest games I ever played from Platinum Games, and I was always curious to see what director Hideki Kamiya did before them. When I heard about the HD collection of Devil May Cry, Bayonetta's inspiration, I had to try it out. So how was it? Okay, so far. Truth be told, I've only gotten into DMC1 so far. It was a 2001 game for the Playstation 2, and no HD upgrade will hide the awful camera manipulation (by which I mean none whatsoever), erratic difficulty, and quality FMV scenes. That said, the times you do get into combat are surprisingly fluid, and the controls work okay as well (although holding RB to dodge and shoot guns is a tad unorthodox). Haven't defeated the whole game (see: erratic difficulty), but so far it seems like a good buy from that alone. Aside from the first, I've heard that DMC2 is horrible garbage and that DMC3 is the cream of the crop - the absolute apex of Devil May Cry. If that which is yet to come is even better than I've played so far, I'd say this purchase was definitely worth it. My only qualm is that once you start a game, you can't change it unless you restart the game. Not a deal-breaker, but you'd expect Capcom to at least give a little respect to one of its flagship series.

Great for newcomers & veterans of the DMC series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never played a DMC game beforehand and was always interested with the series. I saw this masterpiece for a measly $19.99 at my local Bestbuy and immediately purchased it. If you have never played a DMC game and always wanted to try one out, this is the perfect opportunity. You get the classics DMC1, DMC2, and DMC3 Special Edition remastered in HD. As a whole this collection is definitely worth the money. Did i mention there are 99 Achievements? it is insane and being the achievement hunter that I am, I managed to get them all. (It is very challenging) Before I start the review, if you're the type of person who does not like a challenging video game, is impatient, or gets angry fast, or rages a lot at video games, this game is not for you. There is a learning curb to these games and you need to be determined and persistent. Of the three games, overall DMC3 definitely is the best followed by DMC1 and finally DMC2. I suggest playing them in chronological order from 1-3. Why? DMC2 is the easiest but also the most boring of the three. DMC1 is definitely the hardest of the three. DMC3 has a great balance of difficulty, has the most to offer, the best story of the three, and gameplay. Things I did not like about this collection is that CGI scenes were not remastered in HD. It doesn't sound like a big deal but it just feels lazy on the developers part. The camera system does take time to get used to. The biggest flaw would be in DMC1 were there is no "Mission Select" screen so in order to get to a certain mission or boss fight you must replay it from beginning to end everytime. DMC's strongest element is its gameplay, you have an arsenal of weapons from swords to bazookas to a guitar, everybody has a favorite. Seriously, What's more fun then destroying demons with crazy combos you never thought you could do. The replay value is amazing there are so many hidden things to find like health increasing blue orbs or secret rooms/missions to find. Boss fights are amazing and fun. Replaying the games on higher difficulties is intense and will give you adrenaline rushes. The highest difficulty "Dante Must Die" in these games will give you a run for your money, it is a true test of skill, intelligence, and awareness. The bosses on this difficulty will tear you to shreds and are insanely hard to kill, however the feeling you get after taking down these difficult bosses makes it so much more worth it. I could go on and on about how much i love this collection but this review would be far too long. I advise you to try it out yourself and be the judge. After playing this HD collection I have fell in love with this series and will buy DMC4 soon (The more recent DMC:DMC reboot looks good as well if you can get over the butchery of the beloved characters).

Good games, but $20 is a little high for 3 games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.3 Devil May Cry games remastered in HD for $20 (MSRP). I got it price matched for a couple bucks less, then used a $5 off coupon. For the price though, why didn't it include Devil May Cry 4? Best price I saw on this was $10 from another retailer, and they sold out quick. This game doesn't seem to go on sale too often either. Unfortunately this collection isn't on PC, but it's nice for Xbox owners who never got a chance to play them before.

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the first Devil May Cry Collection but it was for the PS2, now that I can get the first 3 Devil May Cry games for my 360, and in HD no less, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Getting to play every Devil May Cry by going to a menu, getting acheivements for beating demons into the ground, this collection has it all. It is a must buy for Hack and Slash and Hardcore DMC fans.

GREAT GAME GREAT PRICE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always liked this game. Best Buy has the biggest selections of games glad this game is still in stock. Many times stores stop carrying games just to make room for "newer" games. I love that I can get what I want when I want it.
