There are better Disgaea's.

If you haven't, I wouldn't rush to go play it. If you haven't tried a Disgaea yet, this is an incredible series, but even though you don't have to play the games in order, please don't start with this one.

Not Disgaea as you know it.

If you love Ogre Battle (gameplay style) you may love it. When I first got this, I was disappointed as it wasn't a typical Disgaea game. When I started approaching it as an tactical team builder where your characters control themselves based off your tactics and how you built them it became a blast. In short, if you loved Dragon Age and FF12 for the deep character AI settings you could do and Ogre Battle you will probably love this as well. Story is not great, it's not that funny, music is alright. It should have probably had a different name as it felt more like a spin off to me.

The addictive, neverending grind!

Constantly leveling up your units in a hundred different systems with infinite dungeons and outrageous special moves. The sheer complexity is the appeal, the never-ending grind is the draw. If that sounds like fun you may have just found your new favorite series. The addictive gameplay is right at home on the Switch. Story is pretty much an afterthought though, and graphically it's not very impressive.

Fun story arc but the real fun (if you are into this) is the grind. Building the team of characters to be super powerful, crazy hit points (millions). Different characters, weapons, monsters all to be controlled in a turn base chess sort of way. This game will have me playing it for hours.

With that being said it is a bit taxing on the hardware of the nintendo switch. they tried to add three modes in settings to deal with it, but it only provides carying degrees of blurryness. this game would absolutely shine on the ps5 or even the 4.
