Action throughout. Not bad storyline for being based on video game. Not familiar with game, but enjoyed the film. Kind of wish there was more storyline. Being aimed at target audience of young males, being female, I rather liked the action & horror. Nice "monsters"

This movie is great, has amazing FUNNY lines, fast action, really sets a nice pace. The sound is great, can't say enough good things about the sound, it has what you expect for the money you spend on a disk of this magnitude, the money they spent was well placed. You get high quality content. The CGI is so realistic you forget its CGI and just fall into the story and lose yourself in the emotion and staging of the drama and action.

I love the steelbook decorations on this item. Unlike other packaging, it is functional and looks like it will last. The movie itself is great. Karl Urban is fantastic (like always).

Look, Doom is no award winner, but it is one fun, yet flawed, film. Mostly, the only negative I can level against Doom is that it is often FAAARRR too dark. This seems odd, as it appears to be done in the monster scenes, but in those instances where monsters are seen in better light, the special effects seem rather good. At the pricepoint Doom is at, and with the actors involved, (The Rock, Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike, and the always entertaining Richard Brake,) it's a fun ride. Those expecting that Doom would somehow break the videogame movie barrier and deliver some transcendant experience need not apply. Doom tries to strike a balance between becoming more than its threadbare source material (what often seems like great logic in a videogame falls way short once it becomes more real,) and keeping it recognizable. It's not always a pretty balancing act, but it works, mostly. If you've never seen Doom, your best option to determine whether you'll enjoy it is to find the first person shooter sequence filmed for the movie. If you watch this and think, "this is ridiculous," there's a good chance Doom isn't for you. If you think, "hey, this is some silly fun," then grab it while Best Buy offers this steelcase at such a low price. You're getting the fun, comic book inspired steelbook, the unrated blu ray, a digital copy, and all the extras included with the special edition DVD at a great price!
