Get Super Powers With The Dyson DC59
Posted .Now I have had stick vacuums in the past, in fact, I have the predecessor to this Dyson model, which I have loved having. But I must say, the power that this new Dyson has, takes my old Dyson to the cleaners, so to say. With a Dyson, I love that they have more suction power than other vacuums I have owned, and with the Dyson DC59, you get 3 times the suction power than you get with a ordinary vacuum! I also appreciate that I can get 26 minutes worth of use on a single charge, so when the kids, animals, or even my husband come tracking in dirt and mud on my freshly cleaned floors, I can pull my Dyson DC59 down off of the charger, and eliminate that dirt that mysteriously showed up on my floors. I can also follow after a snack time with Wyatt, go over the trail of crumbs he left behind, and clean up any evidence! Aside from the fact that this vacuum really does "suck", and that it is easy to take down from the charging station, use then put back on, I love the motor in this vacuum. I mean, my husband can go on and brag about the motor in his muscle car, but at least the V6 motor on my vacuum, does more than his does! I get more suction power than the V2 my other one had, it also performs just like a upright vacuum, and with the 2 Tier Radial Cyclone Technology, that is brought to the cordless vacuum for the first time, I have a machine that actually does work and that I do not have to spend hours under the hood on either! Another feature that I really like is the re-engineered brush bar, which is great for both hard floors and carpet cleaning, making it easy for me to truly follow those trails of dirt and crumbs as they go from carpet to hard floors! And with the Dyson DC59 weighing only 4.65 pounds, I can truly feel like a super woman, I mean, I do not see my husband being able to lift up his vehicle with a V6 motor, eliminate the dirt in the house, and effortlessly place it back up on the wall! So if you are looking not only for a stick vacuum that can not only get the job done, but that is also lightweight, then head to your local Best Buy today and get the new Dyson DC59!

Best Vacuum I have ever owned
Posted .This vacuum is light, portable, compact and can fit into my the useless space between my fridge and wall (otherwise known as the dusty bunny collector). It’s a cordless vacuum cleaner with a slim design and a weight of only 4.65lbs. It has a fantastic pivoting head that makes it easy to vacuum at any angle without having to contort yourself into strange positions. When fully charged, the Dyson DC59 has a 26 minute clean time which is perfect for zipping through our smaller house or an apartment. Thanks to it’s V6 motor, 2 Tier Radial cyclones and a re-engineered battery, the Dyson DC59 Animal can suck up as much dust as a corded vacuum. Don’t mistake this for your hand vacuum from your past – this puppy easily transitions from floor to upholstery and has some serious suction. I have tried several types on vacuums on our couch and NONE (including another upright Dyson) worked as well as the DC59! The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

Good Vacuum but a few issues
Posted .This is my 5th Dyson and 2nd cordless unit. First one ever that requires routine maintenance at least for me. After two months use I noticed it was leaving 'scratch' marks on my hardwood floors! Yikes! Looking closer the two small concentric 'wheels' at the pivot point where very abraded and were leaving marks on my floors. I then realized that my tile floor - which is rough slate style tile - had abraded those little saucer wheels and then the rough edges on them was marking up my wood floor when I moved to that part of the house. NOT GOOD. And not warranted. $1.99 EACH from Dyson. At this rate I'll be out $24/yr putting new tires on the Dyson or I'll need two units, one for tile, one for wood. This plus the tiny dirt compartment plus the battery only lasts 5-6mins on high speed. It's a great little dog hair picker-upper but for the price, I think it's going to be returned.

Pricey but Worth It
||Posted .I use it every single day. The battery lasts long enough to clean whole rooms easily and still has enough left to clean other places in the house too. It's plenty powerful enough to pick up most stuff in one pass, but I habitually do it twice anyway. I use it to clean the car too, since it's turbo mode is awesome and of course it's still cordless. Super good at picking up cat hair too! I even use it to suck up the occasional spider who finds his way to my ceiling! My only real complaint, besides price, is that there is a little gap on the hinge of the canister that the door drops open on; that hinge provides lots of room for small dust and particles to fall back out when the bin is not completely empty and hung back on the wall. Numerous times I've dropped cat litter on the floor from that small hole, only to have to suck it up again, then place my finger over the hinge while I dump it out. The one odd thing I noticed was when I opened up the package. For some reason, they provide this awesome wall mount that's really easy to use, but they don't provide any screws to mount the wall mount with!!! They even provide a nice mounting diagram with exact measurements between the screw points (5 inches). But no screws. What the heck? I had to go to Lowes to buy screws just for this one task. Then finding a wall that had both easy access to a wooden stud and immediate access to an outlet was a little more difficult in my house, but that's really not their fault, I just happen to have a lot of block external walls and not many interior wooden walls. Otherwise, GREAT vacuum.

Good for daily cleanups
||Posted .I use this mostly to clean up around the cat litter boxes every day. I live in a loft, and on the first floor, the floors are stained concrete. The dyson does a pretty good job for daily cleanups; it removes the dust and allows my shiny floors to shine through. Upstairs is all carpet, and it does a fairly decent job, but it doesn't pick up everything all the time. For example, yesterday it kept spitting back out the few kitty treats my 2 cats left on the floor. On the flip side, it was so easy to vacuum under my bed and my other furniture. I didn't have to worry about it picking up something that would clog up the rollers, because the rollers would slow down if something got tangled, and the unit did not act like it was going to burn up. It's very lightweight, so I can walk it all around the house (since it's cordless), and if I don't focus on the little things it doesn't pick up for too long, I can vacuum my entire 1800 foot apartment with a single charge.

VERY expensive but works GREAT!!!
||Posted .This little thing is really expensive. But it is so handy that we use it several times a day. From getting up dry food from a sloppy kitty to cleaning the seats of the Breakfast table chairs (of kitty hair) it is extremely handy. A real big deal if you are having people over and suddenly see gobs of cat hair once the "seat rug" jumps up and runs off. Grabbing it and cleaning stuff I've tracked in from either the yard or the garage before the wife sees it is a real life saver. My wife is a stay at home Mom and I bought this to make it a little easier on her but I think I'm getting the most benefit out of it. It can do several large rooms on regular power if you want to use it as your main vacuum. It is the absolute best at cleaning stairs (a real problem in my house) and vehicles (another real problem as I have teenage twins). You do have to keep the powered brushes clean of hair and various items it grabs but can't suck up the tube. Stay up on the filters and it just keeps going and going.

Wonderful, lightweight Dyson
||Posted .I am a previous Dyson owner. I purchased the DC41 Animal upright several years ago and have loved using it. However, I wanted a vacuum which was a little lighter in weight and easier to maneuver. This vacuum fit the bill. I love it! I can effortlessly use to vacuum our wood floors as well as carpeting and tile. The vacuum head easily gets into difficult cleaning locations. Plus, you can use either hand with ease. It also cleans easily under furniture and beds. My husband loves using it on the carpeted stairs...so easy. There are excellent attachments. You can use as a stick vacuum or hand-held vacuum depending on what you are vacuuming. With eight cats and an English Bulldog in our home...there are a lot of fur balls floating around. The ease of using this vacuum allows me to vacuum daily to keep my home extra free of hair and fur. :-) You will enjoy this Dyson! Don't wait...buy it now. It's worth every penny!

Super suction, great weight... heavy price
||Posted .You'll balk at the price -- $500 for a handheld vacuum cleaner? But I've spent almost that in various handheld, cordless, battery operated solutions and none of them have ever come close to the power of the Dyson DC59. The 15-20 minutes operating time sounds like it's short, but it's not really... I have a pretty large living room and hall stairs - and it only takes 5-10 minutes to go over - so even with the MAX setting, I can still get it all done with battery to spare. Very well put together, easy to clean, super suction, and plenty of attachments... it looks expensive, but it works incredibly well!

Q: QuestionHow long of a running time on one charge does the DC59 Animal Cordless stick vacuumn have?
Asked by dot.
- A:Answer Hi Dot, It's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 has a run time of 22 minutes when used in normal mode. Removing the power floor tool will also extend the run time of the unit. Q: QuestionWhat is difference between Dyson DC59 Motörhead and DC59 animal
Asked by Bb.
- A:Answer Hi, It's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 Animal and Motorhead are designed to function in the same way. The biggest difference between these models is the DC59 Motorhead contains a direct-drive motor in the brush bar, driving stiff nylon bristles into the carpet to remove ground-in dirt. The direct-drive motor delivers direct power - 75% more power than DC59 Animal. Best wishes, Vince

Q: QuestionHow long does it take to charge the DC59 Motorhead Plus?Presuming you've vacuumed for 25 minutes, and the battery is discharged, how long would it take to recharge it? Will it take a full charge if it's NOT completely discharged? I can't tolerate bulky, heavy, vacuums with small dust bags. I don't like cords, but might be able to tolerate a cord if the vacuum is compact, lightweight, and doesn't use disposable bags that are usually out of stock when they're most needed! Can you recommend a LIGHTWEIGHT CORDED Dyson model that I might consider instead of the DC59 Motorhead Plus? I'm concerned about how long the Motorhead battery will last, as well as the size of the dust bin. An excellent in-store Dyson rep mentioned that the Motorhead Plus is so easy to use that I'll use it more often, and that will result in shorter vacuuming sessions as time goes by, because there will be less dust to pick up!
Asked by Lost Angel.
- A:Answer It only takes about 30 minutes as far as I can tell. The good thing about this unit is that it is so easy to use that I use it all the time. There is never a big mess to clean so I rarely run out of battery. I own 3 of them (for 3 different locations) and love it.

Q: QuestionQualityHi, I am interested in the DC59 animal cordless, but I'm skeptical to purchase it in fear of not having as good of suction power with the cordless and I'd like to find out how long the battery stays charged for? We have a dog and a cat and I like to vacuum minimum of every other day. Is there another corded animal model with the same slim version that would be better.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer We have two other Dysons, a very old Animal upright and the Blueprint ball model, and just got the DC59 cordless. So far, it is a pretty amazing vacuum. Much better suction than other cordless vacs I have used. The charge lasts almost a half hour in my experience. We have two dogs and five cats but are not as fastidious about vacuuming as you are. This model is up to the challenge, although if you are looking to completely replace an upright vacuum, I might go with a corded model unless you have a small home or apartment.

Q: Questionhow long is the power cord? do you think it can be used comfortably with one arm only?thanks for the answers to my previous question, but what I really need to know is, how LONG is the power cord....because I will have to hang it a distance away from the wall socket--due to our furniture, etc, covering wall sockets. Also I am on crutches so will have to use only one hand to operate this...just wondering if somebody who has used it knows if it's light enough for one hand/arm only, as my other will be holding a crutch. Are these actually assembled at Best Buy, so I could try them out? Thanks!
Asked by littlesister.
- A:Answer There is no cord on this model with adds to flexibility. I fractured my back a short while back and I gave up vacuuming entirely. I now use this vac everyday. By far it is the lightest but more than that it does a great job! One hand operation should be no problem.

Q: QuestionDoes this DC59 Animal have V6?I do not see V6 in description for DC59 Animal that you are offering (not the Motörhead). It does have, correct?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi it's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 Animal is powered by Dyson's power V6 digital motor. This unit is also designed with an improved trigger response, dual power mode and hygienic bin emptying. We will be happy to provide additional details for the DC59 via email at askdysonus@dyson.com. Q: Questiondoes this vacuum need to be near a wall socket?I'm thinking of this because I'm on crutches and about to kill myself with the cord. I see the wall mount for the DC59, but does it have to be plugged in at all? does it need to be mounted above a socket? we have NO sockets in our house that are not under tables, beside bookcases, behind furniture, etc.
Asked by littlesister.
- A:Answer Hi this is Jessica with Dyson. Thank you for your question. The DC59 wall mounted dock is also a charging station, so it is ideal if the machine is mounted near a socket so it can recharge while it is being stored - ensuring it is ready for use when you need it. It is possible to use the charger only without the wall mount if that is preferable or a better fit for your home. Please let us know if you have additional questions and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Best wishes, Jessica
