Description
Dyson DC59 Animal Bagless Cordless Stick Vacuum: This lightweight, maneuverable vacuum performs a variety of cleaning tasks without tethering you to an electrical outlet. A motorized mini tool takes care of the places most traditional vacuums miss, and a handy dock simplifies charging and storage.
Features
Cordless stick vacuum for hassle-free cleaning
Tackles all your vacuuming chores with a special focus on pet hair.
Versatile floor tool for hard floors and carpets
A mixture of carbon filaments and nylon bristle strips cleans a variety of surfaces, and a dust channel prevents dust from cycling back out to the floor.
Motorized mini tool for tough cleaning tasks
Cleans places that are hard to reach with traditional vacuums, like car seats, carpeted stairs and couch cushions.
Bagless 2-Tier Radial Cyclone technology for increased suction
No more clogged bags or filters. 2 tiers of smaller cyclones create centrifugal force to trap fine dust.
Easy maneuvering around and under furniture
The lightweight stick design makes this vacuum easy to handle. The center of gravity is near the grip to give you more control so you can clean high places with ease.
Toggle Boost mode on or off
Normal suction gives you longer cleaning times between battery charges, while Boost mode gives you more power for tough cleaning chores.
Easy emptying features
Releases dirt and debris into the trash with the press of a button. The clear bin lets you easily see when it needs emptying.
Docking station included
Charges the vacuum and holds two additional attachments for convenient storage.
Customers are delighted by the DC59 Animal Bagless Cordless Stick Vacuum's lightweight design, cordless convenience, easy usage, and powerful suction. It is particularly well-received for its effectiveness in cleaning pet hair and carpets. However, some users have expressed concerns about its battery life, price, canister size, and the lack of sufficient wall mount attachments.

The power on the Dyson is amazing. The suction is great, The vacuum is lightweight and easy to handle which is a great plus. the big drawback is that it only lasts for about 6 minutes on boost or 10. They say 20 but I only timed it at 10 minutes. It is the best to get cat and dog hair out of rugs. I have what I thought was the most powerful built in (the walls) vac in my home, but Dyson does a better job on the pet hair on the oriental rugs.

This is a great cordless vacuum that picks up with amazing suction. It hangs easily on a wall in a convenient place near an outlet (mine is in a utility closet which fortunately does have an outlet). It assembles in a snap and empties easily. Although it is expensive, I feel the ease of use and convenience justifies the price.

As far as its ability to pick up dirt, it bests any vacuum I've owned short of an all-out shop vac. Mix in how crazy light it is, cordless, bagless, and the fact that you clean the filter via running water in the sink, nothing comes close to it. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it. If the DC59 is on your list of possibilities, you will be doing yourself a tremendous disservice buying anything else.

This is an excellent product from Dyson. It is very lightweight and easy to use. Very useful attachments that are easy to put on and take off. It is cordless and rechargable - not having a cord is great! Unfortunately, it only stays charged for a short period of time. This would not be a good choice for your main vacuum. It's great for "touch ups" and hard to reach places.

I bought this at a significant discount and told myself 'well I can try it out and if it wasn't worth the money I'll return it'
Several months later, I use it almost daily (we have a dog). Even our cleaning lady has stopped taking out our larger vacuum - and she gets the house cleaner than before because the floors are cleaner day to day. I absolutely love the light weight and the amazingly powerful suction. I anticipated we would use it for little touch up cleaning between maid visits, but it's so easy to use its almost replaced our larger Oreck. It seems as though lots of people in reviews don't get much run time out of the battery. We consistently get 20 minutes or more with non-motor tools on it and about 15 minutes with motor tools, especially if you lay off the trigger when you aren't actively picking up dirt.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes to keep their house clean between maid visits. It was worth every penny and works very well. It is so light and easy to use there's almost no excuse not to vacuum daily if you own pets. It is also much more convenient than lugging out a huge heavy vacuum for dry spills and messes and works just as well or better.

Get Super Powers With The Dyson DC59

Now I have had stick vacuums in the past, in fact, I have the predecessor to this Dyson model, which I have loved having. But I must say, the power that this new Dyson has, takes my old Dyson to the cleaners, so to say. With a Dyson, I love that they have more suction power than other vacuums I have owned, and with the Dyson DC59, you get 3 times the suction power than you get with a ordinary vacuum! I also appreciate that I can get 26 minutes worth of use on a single charge, so when the kids, animals, or even my husband come tracking in dirt and mud on my freshly cleaned floors, I can pull my Dyson DC59 down off of the charger, and eliminate that dirt that mysteriously showed up on my floors. I can also follow after a snack time with Wyatt, go over the trail of crumbs he left behind, and clean up any evidence! Aside from the fact that this vacuum really does "suck", and that it is easy to take down from the charging station, use then put back on, I love the motor in this vacuum. I mean, my husband can go on and brag about the motor in his muscle car, but at least the V6 motor on my vacuum, does more than his does! I get more suction power than the V2 my other one had, it also performs just like a upright vacuum, and with the 2 Tier Radial Cyclone Technology, that is brought to the cordless vacuum for the first time, I have a machine that actually does work and that I do not have to spend hours under the hood on either! Another feature that I really like is the re-engineered brush bar, which is great for both hard floors and carpet cleaning, making it easy for me to truly follow those trails of dirt and crumbs as they go from carpet to hard floors! And with the Dyson DC59 weighing only 4.65 pounds, I can truly feel like a super woman, I mean, I do not see my husband being able to lift up his vehicle with a V6 motor, eliminate the dirt in the house, and effortlessly place it back up on the wall! So if you are looking not only for a stick vacuum that can not only get the job done, but that is also lightweight, then head to your local Best Buy today and get the new Dyson DC59!

Easy install, nice to use, dust gets stuck @ top

The Dyson DC59 is easy to install and use. My wife really really likes it for our two story home. The only problem we have faced is that dust gets lodged up at the top of the cannister and cannot be easily removed. I think I will have to take it apart to get the dust out periodically. Ordinarily, it should be easy to get the dust out, Dyson almost got it perfect, except that there is a spot where it gets stuck and builds up.
Regarding the install: It was easy. I have ours hung on a wall in a closet and permanently plugged in there. I wanted it near an outlet and there wasn't one in that closet, so I installed one of those too. You do need to get some decent wall anchors, but those are both cheap and easy to use nowadays.
Regarding the use of the DC59. It is both easy and efficient.

Good Vacuum but a few issues

This is my 5th Dyson and 2nd cordless unit. First one ever that requires routine maintenance at least for me. After two months use I noticed it was leaving 'scratch' marks on my hardwood floors! Yikes! Looking closer the two small concentric 'wheels' at the pivot point where very abraded and were leaving marks on my floors. I then realized that my tile floor - which is rough slate style tile - had abraded those little saucer wheels and then the rough edges on them was marking up my wood floor when I moved to that part of the house. NOT GOOD. And not warranted. $1.99 EACH from Dyson. At this rate I'll be out $24/yr putting new tires on the Dyson or I'll need two units, one for tile, one for wood. This plus the tiny dirt compartment plus the battery only lasts 5-6mins on high speed. It's a great little dog hair picker-upper but for the price, I think it's going to be returned.

Hi there, this is Joe with Dyson. Please email us at [email protected] and we will be in touch with assistance.
A:Hi Dot,
It's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 has a run time of 22 minutes when used in normal mode. Removing the power floor tool will also extend the run time of the unit. We will be happy to discuss more features of the DC59 with you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].
Best wishes,
Vince
A:Hi, It's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 Animal and Motorhead are designed to function in the same way. The biggest difference between these models is the DC59 Motorhead contains a direct-drive motor in the brush bar, driving stiff nylon bristles into the carpet to remove ground-in dirt. The direct-drive motor delivers direct power - 75% more power than DC59 Animal.
Best wishes,
Vince
A:It only takes about 30 minutes as far as I can tell. The good thing about this unit is that it is so easy to use that I use it all the time. There is never a big mess to clean so I rarely run out of battery. I own 3 of them (for 3 different locations) and love it.
A:We have two other Dysons, a very old Animal upright and the Blueprint ball model, and just got the DC59 cordless. So far, it is a pretty amazing vacuum. Much better suction than other cordless vacs I have used. The charge lasts almost a half hour in my experience.
We have two dogs and five cats but are not as fastidious about vacuuming as you are. This model is up to the challenge, although if you are looking to completely replace an upright vacuum, I might go with a corded model unless you have a small home or apartment.
A:Hi it's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 is designed with a screw fit battery release, allowing you to swap out the battery. You can purchase spare or replacement battery directly from the Dyson Helpline. We will be happy to answer any additional questions regarding the DC59 via email at [email protected].
Best wishes,
Vince.
A:There is no cord on this model with adds to flexibility. I fractured my back a short while back and I gave up vacuuming entirely. I now use this vac everyday. By far it is the lightest but more than that it does a great job!
One hand operation should be no problem.
A:Hi it's Vince with Dyson. The DC59 Animal is powered by Dyson's power V6 digital motor. This unit is also designed with an improved trigger response, dual power mode and hygienic bin emptying. We will be happy to provide additional details for the DC59 via email at [email protected].
Best wishes,
Vince
A:Everything is accessible in a snap. Even an interior filter (which needs to be cleaned 1x/mo) is easily accessible. All the parts are small and not cumbersome. The container has a trigger to open a drop door to empty. No bags. Very easy,
