This game used to be fun to play and entertained. Nowadays the AI is completely wacky, it feels more and more like you are playing NHL, the players seem to glide instead of run, the players check you take the ball away and the ref is like is not even there. Other players go through you like you are not even there. They need to seriously improve that. I remember having FIFA since 1998, and keep buying it until 2012 or 2013 then I stopped for about 4 years, then decided to give them another chance, but what disappointment. I am glad I only paid 30 dollars for this game. if I could have waited a few more weeks I could have bought it for 20, oh well.

I usually buy the standalone version of the FIFA World Cup games but this world cup, FIFA rolled the World Cup mode into a free update. While that sounds awesome, there are some pros and cons. The great thing is that as mentioned the update is free and has the basic groups and knock out stages for you to play as. This is really the core of what I wanted. The only down side is that the world cup mode is not as robust as the standalone games were, but you still have the standard Fifa 18 game here so it evens out. I have had a blast playing through the World Cup Mode.

So I have been an avid soccer game fan since winning eleven/pro evolution way back in the day! While many of these generation games are fun, this one absolutely takes the cake! A lot more realistic play's. For example, players don't just stop and turn on a dime and continue at fast speeds, they will stop and change directions and their speed at which this happens is very realistic. Only complaint would be sometimes the goalies are ridiculously good, or the exact opposite, so there's room for improvement, but this adds to the realistic feel because you aren't running up the score with double digits. Overall, absolutely love and recommend this game!

      Toxic Button delay

I loved playing FIFA games, up until 2016 when there has been a consistency in button delay, specifically with online game. It’s a hit or miss when you get a smooth, playable game. But for the most part I feel like I have to smash the “A” button to pass, and when it final does pass the ball it is poorly timed, because I wanted it passed a second ago. In this game, those seconds count. I returned this game, like I did with 16 and 17, two months after purchasing them. I hope Fifa 19 doesn’t have the same problem. We shall see.

If you have played the last 3/4 Fifa games then you know what you are getting. Presentation is nice, fantastic choice of leagues/teams, a decent amount of game modes but with familiar gameplay and feel which ultimately is its downfall. Fifa 18 is not a bad game by any means, but for EA to churn out the same game every year, its becoming increasingly apparent and frustrating for some fans. Pes 2018 is still infront in terms of gameplay and 'realistic' graphics but Fifa 18 will appeal to the more casual football fan/gamer who prefer a pick up and play style of football.

This is by far the most realistic FIFA game offering yet. Each evolution of the game seems to made it play more realistic and therefore more challenging. With the last version (FIFA 17) the breakaways with speedy players were removed and this version ups the ante by making ball control more realistic so players aren't going to have perfect control of the ball when receiving a pass. So bad ball control and bounces can results in giveaways. Also the continuation of the Hunter story plays nicely.

What ever happened to putting game in console, hitting start and your playing the game? I love soccer and my little boys interest in soccer has blown up. I figured the game would help him understand the concept of space, movement with/without ball, marking, defense and attacking. This game has shown him that. My problem is getting to the game and playing. Too much going on and that’s what I don’t like. Once we start playing, the game is quite fun.
