A little tough but exciting
|Posted .Checked the prices online and found it a bestbuy lower than anywhere else except online. Paid $45. You'll need to set up a Ubisoft account when first installing. The tutorial teaches you how to attack but some of the campaigns are tough to beat.

Skill based combat game.
|Posted .For honor is a fantasy based fighting game that pins the samurai, knight, and Viking factions against each other. In terms of skill based game play the mechanics include parrying (controlled with timing) , blocking (directional input) , dodging (directional input as well as coinciding button press), attacking (controlled with directional input), and chain attacks ( heavy and light paired with directional input) While the game is fun, certain scenarios will make you angry, facing a team that gangs up on you will lead to your immediate death. In a game that stresses Honor (it is in the title after all) you may very well be faced with opponents who have zero of it what so ever. The customization of the characters is in depth and relies on a small part of RNG. Gear pieces can be awarded at the end of games or "scavenged" in boxes or bought by using in game currency(that can be earned in game/bought) called steel. The leveling process to get the different tiers of weapon and armor qualities lead to a grind, but at times can feel rewarding. Downside to this game is the ability to boost by buying different armor sets to have permanently and/or status boosts (increase in xp, steel, more item drops) at the end of a game session. This model of microtransactions is common in Free to Play game models, but in a game that costs $60, it has no place in it unless it's purely based on cosmetic items. Overall fantastic game concept but executed rather poorly in a sense of server management as well as built around microtransactions.

Game is great but has some issues which need fixed
|Posted .the game is very fun with a unique playstyle. It is a fighting game in a 3d space, each character has movesets which need to be learned in order to play the game with any level of skill. The problems are there are a few characters mainly the two newist ones, which need some patching they are a bit op. There isnt any dedicated servers so expect lots of connection issues when in match making, and since both the closed and open beta that game has been tweked in such a way that the responsive ness of the character movements and the "fluidity" of combat seem to not work as well. Oh and of coarse MICROTRANSACTIONS other then that it is a great game and i hope things get patched and a good decent player base builds up around it to keep the game going strong

Awesome Game!
|Posted .First thing to note is that this game is ALWAYS ONLINE. Even if you plan on playing the Single Player. Sword fighting feels amazing in this game. At its best when it's one-on-one. All about timing and skill at that point. Customization is great. Weapons, armor, gender (on most Heroes), color schemes, helmet ornaments, and emotes can be changed. There's a chance of getting new loot after every match. Combat can feel very sluggish and "button mashy" if you don't take the time to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the Hero you choose. Campaign is okay. It's really more of an extended tutorial than a single player story I think, but has some really interesting moments. Overall I'm really enjoying this game and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique combat system that's both fun and easy to learn, but deep and difficult to master.

Great melee combat game
|Posted .This is a pretty interesting game. Combat is fun and intuitive. Game is beginner friendly. Mastering the combat can take time but very rewarding. Campaign is a nice warm up for the online components of the game. Capture the territory style of game play. One on one match are fun and challenging. If you are playing for just the single player. Wait for a good sale. If you you play online the game has a lot to offer. They are constantly update the game.

A Worthy Purchase
|Posted .When first announced , this game hadn't been on my radar . But when I got to try the open beta , I was more than impressed. As soon as the game was released , I had to buy it. I am still currently enjoying the game , buts it's unreliable online severs make it hard to enjoy. Hopefully Ubisoft creates dedicated servers for the game in the future , but in the mean time , my rating will stay a 4 until improved.

Enjoyed it, regardless of some bad reviews
|Posted .To each his or her own, but I play games to escape, not to compete, although it's one of the highest paying fields to go into right now. This is a cool escape. I enjoy the brutality of battle, it's not quite button mashing if you want to live long, and although I haven't played it for a long while, I look forward to enjoying the campaign.
