Forza Motorsport 6 Standard Edition - Xbox One

1st the game is highly visually appealing. I also like the variety of cars you can drive. Racing itself is satisfying and challenging at the same time. You don’t find yourself running off the road every 5 seconds dealing with overly exaggerated handling like some other racing games. The game is no pushover though. One of the best racers in my collection.

I had Forza 5 for a couple of months before I purchased this game. I planned on finishing Forza 5 first but after playing Forza 6, I couldn't go back. I love the new Mods feature and racing in the rain is the coolest thing ever.

Forza has done it again! Seriously, this game is just unbelievable. There are so many pieces that add to the greatness of this game. The graphics is the first piece we will examine here. One would be remiss to not speak about the impeccable graphics in this game. The paint shines the lighting is crazy good and the water, oh the water. You have never seen water effects as good as you will in this game. The rain hitting your windshield and the track is just wonderful. It streaks up your windshield, and your wipers send it over to the left. There are times you would swear they just filmed rain coming down and then put it in the game. So great! Also the puddles on the track are hyper realistic. If just one of your tires happens to hit a puddle, you will be doing some realistic sliding. Also, the lighting on the tracks are so believable. It is a shame you cannot change the time of day on the tracks, but they are so beautiful it really won’t matter much to you. Some of the tracks have a perfect representation of daylight, others have pitch black courses lit only by your headlights, and yet others are lit up by the artificial speedway flood lights. All are impressive. Speaking of impressive, Forza continues to amaze with the line-up of cars. This time the number of different cars clocks in at over 400. Wow. Pretty much any car you can think of old and new are here. Let us not forget that each and every car can be examined in and out and under the hood. It is like taking a virtual tour in the best auto museum in the history of man! And all of the cars are customizable! Online multiplayer is here and it works smooth as silk. Also, the developer should be congratulated in the fact that they are one of the few racing games left with multiplayer split screen races allowing you to race another driver sitting right next to you on the couch. All in all, it doesn’t feel like an oversell to say that this is the best racing game out there. If you are a fan of the genre you will know instantly that there is not a better more realistic or more fun racer that Forza 6. Do not miss this one!

To begin this review I'll start by saying that I'm going to cover four main topics of this game: Gameplay, audio, visual, and replay value. Gameplay: This game is hands down the BEST sim racer I've ever played. In comparison to Project Cars and previous Forza games this is the most improved and most accurate. Audio: The sounds of the vehicles are about as accurate as I could guess they are. I wouldn't know what 80% of these cars sound like in person. The music is still composed but, a HUGE improvement over FM5. Very ambient and ambitious during an ongoing race. Visual: Graphics wise? This game is spectacular. Although that's to be expected as technology advances. The cars look just like the real life counterparts. This is about as close as most people will ever get to these cars. Replay: This will only increase or decrease depending on how you feel about racing. If you have a passion for cars and enjoy racing then you'll surely get your $60 worth. However, if your the type of person that likes racing but enjoys more of the Need for Speed type, look elsewhere. My final verdict? 5/5 for fans of the series as well as sim addicts. 2/5 for the casual racer fan.

Amazing graphics, realistic scenery, thrill of racing. You can feel the intensity and authenticity of sports racing in this game. The main action takes place through a series of competitive events with 4-6 races in each. In the beginning of the game there is a pre-qualifying race, that you can clear by being one of the first three to arrive at the finish. Beware to not upgrade your car prematurely least it become ineligible for the qualifying race with no credits or tokens to spare to replace or downgrade it! There is also a free play mode where you can pick any track you want to race on. Great companion to Forza Horizon 3 which is more free-range and relaxing. Get them both!

This game is definitely an improvement over Forza 5. The handling of the cars seems to be a little more realistic in that if your setup is wrong, the car is not as uncontrollable as in the earlier games. It's a little easier to earn money to afford more cars and the addition of Mod packs adds an extra element of strategy to the game. I'm loving the tracks on this game. As an F1 fan, I appreciate the inclusion of Hockenheim this go 'round. The track interaction has also been improved. For instance, if you hit a tire wall it deforms and tracks can also be affected by weather. My only problem with the game is the steering for the open wheel cars is too "loose". This might be adjustable, but I haven't gotten to the point in the game where I'm using the exotics and high powered toys yet. If you're a racing fan, this game is a sure buy. There is enough variety in the game for non-racers to have a little fun with the special events. I say buy it.

Forza Motorsport 6 is like a breath of fresh air, mixed with exhaust, oil, and nitrous, all inhaled while doing 250mph down a straight away, in the rain. To say this game is beautiful would be an understatement. It's simply a work of art, graphically speaking. But the gameplay is not to be ignored either. FM6 offers up some of the best racing I've enjoyed in a long time. Fans of FM4 will definitely enjoy this one as will fans of the Grand Turismo franchise. This latest version in the series offers up lots of little touches that make the boring progression in the past much more bearable. From challenges to dares, to modifications (using a card system much like the burn cards for you Titan Fall fans) you will find much to do here. If I had to have a complaint however, it's in the DLC. It's gotten worse and worse every year. When will developers realize that real gamers are growing weary of spending $60 on a game, only to then have to spend an additional $50 to come close to even owning the actual content they wanted in the first place? Don't get me wrong...I understand the cost of production and development more than most having spent years in design, but there comes a point when they need to realize they must do a better job at managing their development costs and pass something, anything off to the consumer for their loyalty. Fans of the series will find much to enjoy here, so in that this game is outstanding. You can still enjoy it without the DLC.
