If fits my needs and inspires to push harder.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Advantages over the Fitbit Charge are; it is waterproof, doesn't have to be recharged, alerts you to be active and automatically increases your goal. The disadvantages are; it doesn't sync quite as often, doesn't have an alarm and doesn't notify you when you've reached your goal. Having Vivofit friends that I compete against really helps to keep me motivated.

Great Fitness Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my Garmin VivoFit 2 for a month. Also, purchased one for my husband. Really like that it runs on a watch battery instead of having to charge it every so often! Links to My Fitness Pal app which I was already using.

great tracker at a fair price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What sold me on the Vivofit 2 over the much acclaimed Fitbit was the battery feature. I know me. If I had to take off the tracker to charge it, it would never find its way back to my wrist. The Vivofit 2 solves that obstacle by running on batteries, which last a year or more before needing replacement. It's waterproof, too, so it never has to leave my arm. I can shower, do dishes, and swim with confidence. The tracker sets a goal for me based on the steps I was able to accomplish the day before. It tracks the number of steps I've done, the steps needed to complete my goal, counts calories, and shows the date and time. It also has a stopwatch feature to time my workouts. It beeps when I've been idle for too long and when I've hit my goal. It also shows a red line that grows and flashes to prompt me to move. A two-minute walk resets it. When the Vivofit 2 arrives, it will include two wristbands, unlike the Fitbit where you have to choose a size and hope you got it correct. The clasp on the band turns and locks it into place. I've been wearing mine for six months and have never had a slippage. There is a sleep mode, but I find I don't need to select it. The tracker senses non-movement lying down and records it as sleep. It has even recorded a nap as a nap! It's interesting to see my sleep patterns. Definitely need to work on that deep sleep. The app also tracks weight, which I do use, and other things, which I do not. I don't have the app in front of me, so I can't recall them at the moment. I paired this easily with Virgin Pulse, a program we use at work. The reps there said it would only work with the original Vivofit, but I found that is not the case. Definitely cannot go wrong with this tracker.

Great, Easy to use. Lasting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had about every fitness tracker out there. This one is so easy to use, and durable. You don't have to worry about charging all the time, if the batteries die after a few years, change them. Waterproof and close to the most accurate ones (matches up nicely with my handheld GPS on distance. GREAT buy.

Useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my tracker for tracking steps and sleep. I have also used it to track exercise (walks, runs). Prior to using the Garmin I was using a Fitbit Flex. Generally I like the Garmin a little more. Two of my favorite differences are the long battery life-no charging- and the fact that it is waterproof. All other features formatted well and pretty accurate.

Excellent fitness tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Fitbits, Samsung & Band. I come back to this for 2 primary reasons: Battery & waterproof. I have taken a dip in the pool & showered wearing it - no problem. Don't want to worry about charging every 3 to 10 days either. Especially when you are going on extended trips & you don't need to lug another proprietary charger along. And the step count is pretty accurate (compared it to the Garmin Fenix 3). The back light helps in dark environments. For the price paid, I'm stoked to wear this.

good quality, easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Garmin to start tacking my steps, but I didn't want anything I'd have to plug in regularly. It's been awesome. Since it has a each battery, I can wear it in the shower with no worry, and the battery is going on 2 years now. The only thing it doesn't do is sync itself. So if I go too long without syncing it, I lose a bunch of data. Overall, it's been great, though. And I like that I can change the band for a different look.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between vio fit and vio fit2
Asked by Lucky.
- A:Answer I won't list all the differences but the 2 biggest differences are that the vivofit 2 has a twist lock on the band that holds it very securely, while the vivofit 1 has a push clip design that easily comes undone. Also the vivofit 2 has a backlit display which is absolutely necessary if you wear it at night (I wear mine all the time as a watch).

Q: Questiondo you need to be connected to a computer to work this product?
Asked by golfer.
- A:Answer NO, another reason I like it, all functions work without connecting. Connecting just gives you a record/history.

Q: Questionis it sweat/water resistant?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes you can wear it in the shower and swimming.
Answered by AnnIe
Q: QuestionDoes the VivoFit 2 count going up and down stairs?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It counts the steps you take on stairs but not the number of flights of stairs or altitude which is what I think you are asking.
Answered by Jake
Q: Questionis this also a watch
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes! I replaced my watch with the Vivofit 2. Much nicer than wearing both a watch and a fitness band. You can also customize which is on the main screen. I set mine to have the time on the main screen so it's just like a regular watch. Then I can push a button to scroll through the date, number of steps, number of steps left to reach the daily goal (or number of steps over the goal), miles walked, and calories burned. If preferred, you can instead choose to see any of the other info (like steps walked) on your main screen, then push the button to get to time and rest of info.

Q: QuestionIs the Garmin vivofit 2 waterproof? And can you safely bathe with it?
Asked by WRR.
- A:Answer It is rated by Garmin as "waster resistant to 5atm", which translates to the pressure equivalent of being submerged to around 165 feet. However it is not sufficient for scuba diving or other such activities. It is perfectly fine for wearing in the shower or swimming at normal depths in swimming pools and such. I rarely take mine off and routinely wear it in the shower, swimming in the pool, and have even worn it in the ocean on my recent beach vacation.
Answered by JayDZee
Q: QuestionAfter a year of wearing, do you buy a new battery or do you buy a whole new watch?I love the fact that the watch doesn't need to be charged and can last to up to a year. But what happens after the watch finally goes dead? Are there batteries you can purchase or would you need to buy a new watch?
Asked by Chan.
- A:Answer Great question! You can replace the batteries yourself. You can expect the batteries in vívofit 2 to last for at least 12 months before they need to be changed. The vívofit 2 uses two standard user-replaceable CR1632 batteries. These can be purchased in most stores where watch batteries are sold. *CG

Q: QuestionWhat size chest does this fit.How long is the band?
Asked by Linda.
- A:Answer Since you're asking about chest size, I'm assuming you're referring to the Garmin Heart Rate Monitor Bundle. The Garmin Heart Rate Monitor strap is adjustable from 21'' to 29.5'' (533.4mm to 749.3mm). The length of the band varies from 120-175mm (small wrist circumference) to 152-210mm (large wrist circumference). (KS)
