GE - 30" Freestanding Gas Range - White-on-White

This is my first gas range and already I enjoy cooking on it more than on an electric stove. The price was low compared to other gas ranges but it seems that GE has not reduced cost by using inferior parts to build this range. The burners are solid and level. The gas knobs are plastic but they don't feel flimsy. The burner ignites quickly and the flame range from low to high is excellent. When cooking on the range (things like grilled cheese or hamburgers) there is an even distribution of heat as evident by the item being evenly cooked when turned over. The oven works great also. Preheat time seems quick and everything I've baked so far takes exactly how long the cooking instructions/recipe indicates. Just like with the range, the oven cooks evenly. The handle to the oven door feels solid when I am pulling on it. The electronic controls (for temperature, clock, timer, etc.) are not complicated and work well. The end time indicator (when oven is preheated or timer goes off) is not extremely loud so if you are not in the kitchen or the next closest room you may not hear it. This gas range is white so you can really see your mess after you've finished cooking but it is very easy to clean. The paint and finish seem to be holding up great so unless you accidentally do something to scratch into the finish you should be able to keep this stove looking brand new with some basic cleaning after each use. This product does not have a self cleaning feature for the oven. This was not a deal breaker for me because it's fairly simple to be proactive when trying to avoid messes when baking (utilize your aluminum foil or other methods). The men who came to deliver and instal my gas range were punctual and efficient. I have no regrets with this purchase. Good luck to you!

This was a easy install, burners were almost too simple. Easy to use digital controls, and the design has made it easy to clean as well.

I needed a stove quick, before the holidays. I saw this stove online and on sale and decided to purchase it. My stove got delivered but wasn't installed. I was missing a tube that connects the stove to the gas line. I didn't know, this was my first time buying a stove. I kind of wished that i had been offered to purchase the tube along with the stove but that's ok, not a big deal. Once, i got that fixed, I was pleasantly surprised, everything else went smoothly. The stove is SO easy to clean, the knobs are easy to turn, it cooks well and it looks great. I couln't be happier. Great quality for the price. However, the only negative thing I can say is that it's so quiet and the knobs are in fact so easy to turn that I am afraid i might not turn off the stove correctly. It's still a fantastic product, i just have to be a little more careful to remember to turn it off properly after every use.
