I bought this for my mother back last month for Mother's Day. She loves the mixer and was totally shocked when I pulled it out for her to unwrap and everything. Her other one had burned out after like ten years of use which was also a Hamilton Beach, she is a die hard Hamilton Beach fan so I knew it had to be this brand! Power wise I was somewhat shocked the power it can emit for the price tag listed. I purchased a two year warranty to go with this product as well but hopefully it won't have to be used. Which leads me to my only con I can really think of... well two but one of them isn't really bad. Con #1 : It feels cheap/lightweight plastic. I am worried about it burning out fast. Con #2: We had some issues getting the actual mixer to stay on the base but we finally got it. The plastic is just delicate she is sort of scared of trying to get it to go down so forcefully

We bought this Mixer primarily to make cookie dough but after reading the manual came to know that you cannot use the mixer in stand mode! Also the head seemed to be wobbly and cheaply made, there was a lot of play even though when it was locked (more that what may be needed for functioning) Doesn't come with the hook attachment (meant for making dough) as a standard and I wonder if the spiral attachment provided for dough making really makes the dough because when we tried the flour was flying everywhere in the kitchen! Also, the base doesn't rotate so would need manual periodic rotation. All in all, you get what you paid for, it was a wrong purchase hence we returned it.

I have to say your getting a bang for your buck. I'm loving this hand mixer. I live in NYC and have a small kitchen and was going to get a kitchen aid but wanted to hold off tell I move next year so I needed something smaller and this was it. I looked around for months and ended up buying this one. Let me say I'm super happy with my purchase. I do bake sugar cookies 1-2 times a week and this little baby dose the job. Super happy with this little mixer.

If your compare to the $100+ other stand mixer then your just buyn brand names. This one can do as the rest, but there some flaws as the bowl setting, all that does it shift the bowl to the middle or off ends. The whipper does reach all the way to the bottom of the bowl (2 eggs wont get beat unless it on hand mode.) Haven't used the dough hooks yet just cant wait.

Overall this is a great mixer. It is durable, has great power and is perfect for the home up to medium tasks. My kids and I have a blast making chocolate chip cookies with it. I have made pizza and bread dough with it with no issues. You will NOT run a bakery with this item nor was it built to do so. The next step up from this is a Kitchenaid.

    Thought it would spin itself

About 50 years ago when I owned a stand mixer, the batter would cause the mixer to spin on its base. This does not spin. I called the company and they said this model isn't supposed to. Can't understand why this model doesn't since the mixer I had as a teenager was an inexpensive model and it spun. I guess if all mixers in this price range don't spin I wouldn't be able to find it in a different brand name.

For the price I paid of $27, the product offers good value for what it does and it's a good mixer for a new baker who is just starting off. The quality of the base seems kind of cheap and wonky; and the bowl isn't that large so its hard to complete larger recipes but it gets the job done.

Purchased this mixer about 18 months ago.I bake a lot so im constantly making pastries and cookies and this mixer hasn't failed me! It's durable and does its job. I know the kitchenaid one looks and works better but this one gets the job done and is a good substitute.
