The HP OmniBook X Flip is a well-balanced all-rounder, particularly good for students or business use. While perhaps not exceptional in any particular area, it has a very nice balance of features and performance making an excellent jack-of-all-trades. Power and Performance: This is one of the few machines with 24GB of ram and the new AMD AI 350 processors. having 24GB of ram provides more breathing room for running applications, VMs, or just lots of Chrome tabs, and sets this model ahead of most of its peers which only have 16GB. The AMD AI 350 chip is more than fast enough, running with ease. Fan noise is minimal, and even under load is not excessive. Battery life is good (not great) but should easily get through a typical workday or schoolday. I am getting 6-7 hours of actual use with screen brightness fairly high. The included iGPU is plenty fast for older AAA games but this is not a gaming computer. Considering the processor speed, extra ram, and 1TB SSD, this computer has the power to last for years. As recently as 1 year ago, having an NPU and being certified as Copilot + was really just a gimmick, but there are many features starting to appear which use the NPU, making this a much better investment in future capability. I would not buy a non-AI PC in 2025, and in a few years I think non-AI PCs will be significantly left behind, making this one future-ready. Case design: it is a nice metal case with a pleasing modern look. New edge design underneath give the illusion of a much thinner base and are pleasant to grip. The case top and bottom are very professional in appearance, almost looking like a Bosch appliance. There are ample ports, (USB-C, HDMI, headphone, USB-A) including 2 USB-A ports when many comparable have 1 or even 0. There is no microSD card slot however. Case flex is present, but not excessive. Keyboard and Trackpad: Keyboard and trackpad are good, but neither are great. The Trackpad surface is has a nice friction, and the touch click force is very good. It is not a haptic trackpad though. Keyboard looks very nice with even backlighting. However, keyfeel is a step behind the best in the class and even a step back from the prior HP Envy series. Conferencing and media: Speakers are very good, clear, loud, and even a bit of bass. They are suitable for both video meetings (Zoom, Teams, etc) and watching media. No complaints there. The webcam is also clear and crisp. Built in microphones are clear as well. A big plus is the included Poly Camera software which uses the NPU in the AMD AI 350 chip to create some very useful video features for conferencing. This is a feature I've only seen on new HP AI PCs, and it is really impressive. The IR face recognition camera works very well with Windows Hello. Screen: a small step up from prior Envy but one of the less impressive. Brightness is definitely good, and up to 400 nits from the prior Envy models 300. It is bright enough for any indoor use. The screen is very glossy and does have a bit of glare. Viewing angles are good. Contrast and color saturation unfortunately are average to slightly-worse-than-average for 2025, and would not recommend this for photo work or for anyone who values rich colors. On my particular model, blacklight bleeding from the edges and corners was worse than I expected, although pressing around the edge of the screen really helped. . . which implies the screen may not have been assembled well. The screen is MPP compatible and worked perfectly with several Microsoft Surface pens and a generic MPP stylus. Lines were smooth and I would say this is fine for note-taking. Bloatware: there is a fair amount of bloatware on this PC. HP stuffs it with quite a few of its own apps (more than 10), and sometimes multiple apps need to be opened to adjust settings (like smart battery charging and updates being in two different HP apps). HP also installs its OMEN gaming software, some (fairly useless) HP AI tools, the Poly Camera (very useful), and the McAfee security suite. Fortunately most of these can be removed or ignored. While not often mentioned, this PC just works. Sleep is reliable, it wakes perfectly and quickly when key is pressed (even with external Bluetooth keyboard), and I just haven't seen any of the typical Windows issues that often come up. No weird driver issues, didn't need hundreds of updates, no strange crashes. Nice!

I just got this new laptop. I love the size of it. I love that the screen flips back. I do miss my number keypad, but I love everything else about it.
