Top tier laptop all around!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, to address previous reviews referencing the screen, sure, if you're sitting here staring a few inches away, you might barely be able to notice the mesh/grid pattern they speak of. Using the laptop in everyday circumstances, you're not even going to notice it, as it's something you literally have stare at the screen, to look for to find. The screen is beautiful, can be viewed just as well from any angle, even directly from the side the picture remains the same, as shown in one of the attached photos. There are 5 color profiles to choose from: Default - optimized for color vibrancy Web (sRGB) - optimized for web browsing Photo (Adobe RGB) - optimized for photo editing & viewing Movie (DCI-P3) - optimized for movie viewing & editing Native - no optimization applied Personally I typically stick with Movie, as that's the color profile utilized for digital film projection in the move industry, and it really makes movies look terrific. Being a 4K AMOLED screen, the blacks are true, and the colors are vibrant and rich. To address the fans and heat issues I've seen on here, in my experiences thus far, the laptop has remained cool, haven't had any crazy heat under the keyboard, though I just usually watch a lot of movies, with some web browsing. So others might be multitasking a lot, or using programs that eat up a lot of the CPU. The fans are hardly ever on, and yes when they do turn on, sometimes they can spool up a bit, though never what I'd deem as overly loud. You can select the fan profile in the HP Command Center, I leave it on the HP Recommended, though you can choose Performance, Quiet, or Comfort as well. Port wise, it is very limited, though I do appreciate it has a full size USB-A port, which did take me a minute to find, as it's somewhat hidden. It's on the left side, and at a glance looks like maybe a MicroSD slot, though if you push down on the bottom of the port, it opens up into the full size. The bottom stays flush with the laptop otherwise, when you're not using it. So that's kind of a cool feature to keep it hidden in a way. Has the charge port on the back right corner, it's a USB-C type, as show in the picture there. The cord from the power "brick" to the laptop is braided, which is great, so helps give the cord some durability. Besides that, has another USB-C port, MicroSD slot, and headphone jack. Also has a camera kill switch on the right side for privacy sake. Overall feel of the laptop is premium, haven't noticed any kind of flexing when opening the screen, feels very sturdy, and the hinges feel like they'll hold up for quite awhile. Keyboard feels good, responsive, albeit maybe slightly cramped though being a 13.3" laptop, I wouldn't have expected a full size anyways, so no worries there. Keyboard is backlit, with an adjustable brightness setting, located on the F5 key. All of the function keys by default do the action shown, you have to hold the actual FN key to do F1, F2 and so on, which seems pretty common these days on many laptops. Have only had this laptop a few days, though initial impressions are quite positive from me. I updated everything I could when I first started it, so maybe some of the screen issues folks mentioned were resolved in more recent updates, as I've not had any issues. System boots up quick of course with the SSD, and have not encountered any issues have multiple tabs open on Firefox, which we all know is a resource hog of a browser, even still. Battery life, I got about 6 hours from 100% to 26% before I plugged it in, and that was entirely streaming Netflix, with brightness at about 65%, no battery saving features enabled. The price dropped down to $1649.99 recently, so was finally able to pull the trigger on this, as I had been eyeing it for awhile, well worth the price, for the value it has. Also comes with a carrying sleeve, which it fits perfectly into, and has a little bit of cushion, though I still use a pouch as well for extra insulation.

Great Productivity Laptop and lightweight!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it. Best Noteable Pros: battery life is upto 6-8 hours of heavy use by me who has videos running on another monitor while i sift through Adobe photoshop and MS Suite, and search engines. Havent had a malfunction of any type after months of daily use. Cons I can't increase screen wedge or Folder sizes permanently to see them. I must use my 32" monitor ro read them. Sometimes if im using it in tablet mode, some keya unlock when touching my thigh and i get eronious letters or unwanted actions happen while im writing seriously. The backlit keyboard doesnt stay on. Did I miss an option to keep it on instead of timing out after x minutes of non-use?

Best price with great performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I battled with purchasing the Dell xps with similar specs to the HP Spectre. But the price with an Oled screen, 1tb sd, i7 with a icelake processor and Iris Plus graphic card was really hard to beat at under $1,200. Plus., it has all the ports I need. I have been using it for 1month now and its amazing. fully recommend

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference in BATTERY life between the AMOLED option and the WLED option?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The AMOLED option like model 13-aw0023dx battery life would be about 9 hours and 15 minutes. The FHD option like model 13-aw0013dx battery life would be about 19 hours and 15 minutes.

Q: QuestionIs Intel Iris Plus integrated GPU in this laptop good enough to manage lightroom and photoshop projects smoothly ( including mutliple filters in PS & LR) , specially when it is a OLED display ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yea sir. I’m a photographer myself and it’s been super smooth for me. Just slide the battery bar to performance before u begin. Also if u feel like it, leave it plugged in to multitask heavily and that includes having iTunes or Spotify playing while transferring files from LR to PR while editing.

Q: QuestionCould one upgrade SSD drive with Samsung PM981 512 GB (MZVLB512HAJQ) on this machine post-purchase? If yes, are the warranty benefits void after upgrade?
Asked by Andi.
- A:Answer Yes you can use that model of SSD (any NVMe SSD) with this laptop. Regarding warranty: HP cannot legally invalidate your warranty -just- for opening it. If you damage something when upgrading your warranty may be voided if HP can prove you caused the damage. You do, however have to remove the back rubber pad to expose screws which makes it much more likely to fall out unless you go out of your way to get the right adhesive. (I would also ask why you would "upgrade" to that SSD which would be a... side-grade from the Intel H10 that comes with it unless you write a ton of stuff to it consistently. [At which point I'd ask why you are buying a light-duty ultrabook]).

Q: QuestionIs the now "nightfall black" color basically the same as the "dark ash silver" from previous Spectre generation ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, exactly the same

Q: QuestionCould one use a non-HP pen/Apple Pencil on this OLED screen and get the same experience as writing with the Apple Pencil on iPad Pro ? For example, non-ntrigue pen like Apple Pencil, Dell pen, Wacom pen.
Asked by Andi.
- A:Answer I own this Laptop, and use the Surface Pen with it. It works amazing with it. Has the same angle hits, and pressure sensitivity as if it were on the Surface Pro. Tried Apple Pencil, it doesn't work.

Q: QuestionIs the nvme ssd hard drive in this system upgradable or is it solder to the motherboard. Also is max configeration 16gb of ram or can it be configured to 32gb on the hp website?
Asked by IamTwone.
- A:Answer The included 1TB Intel H10 Optane/hybird drive can be upgraded to say, Samsung 970 or WD Black. Probably voids the warranty. The RAM is soldered on. The laptop does get rather hot towards the back (especially in tablet mode) so be careful as to what SSD to choose.

Q: QuestionIn need of a laptop within the next two weeks. I would prefer to get the x360, but Surface Laptop 3 ships on 10/22, and is substantially similar for my use case. Could we get an actual release date, please?
Asked by Boris.
- A:Answer According to Best Buy's inventory system, this laptop is due to be in stock on October 27, 2019. I would advise checking the website on that date or contacting your local store for accurate inventory information.

Q: QuestionThe pictures indicate a SIM card slot. Is this limited to Sprint LTE like some of the other HP models?
Asked by JP.
- A:Answer In searching, I answered my own question. ATT and T-Mobile LTE connectivity, no Verizon or Sprint. According to the HP link here: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/premium/laptops/spectre-x360-13.html?source=aw&subacctid=228921&subacctname=Mobile+Nations&adcampaigngroup=91539&awc=7168_1570912639_72315526f7c5dbba2af2926e27a9814b&jumpid=af_gen_nc_ns&utm_medium=af&utm_source=aw&utm_campaign=Mobile+Nations The new Spectre 13 models, if you scroll to the end of the page: "7. HP Spectre x360 13 can connect to ATT & T-Mobile. Verizon & Sprint not available. " 35 seconds into this video, also on HP's website, you'll see the mention of embedded LTE https://www8.hp.com/us/en/premium/laptops/spectre-x360-13.html?source=aw&subacctid=228921&subacctname=Mobile+Nations&adcampaigngroup=91539&awc=7168_1570912639_72315526f7c5dbba2af2926e27a9814b&jumpid=af_gen_nc_ns&utm_medium=af&utm_source=aw&utm_campaign=Mobile+Nations#modal=LNK--71eaef9a-b154-42a6-b231-4b5d7d4b5dbd
