About This Item

Kendra Morris, the Brooklyn-based Artist is back with her fifth LP, entitled I Am What I'm Waiting For, on Colemine/Karma Chief Records. Co-Written and Produced by Torbitt Schwartz (Run The Jewels, Killer Mike, Rubble Kings, Chin Chin), this collection is Kendra's most personal album to date. It was spring of 2022 and Kendra had just released Nine Lives, her first new album in almost a decade and her first on Colemine Records. She felt an urgency to get back into the studio, but something felt different this time. Returning to her usual ways, places, and people that she had been creating with felt like dragging herself back to a familiar and comfortable place - but that wasn't what she was looking for. InchI had to step into a new, unknown process because I knew it was the only way that I'd continue to grow,Inch she explained. She took a small batch of songs to Torbitt's studio and the two began to write. InchHe challenged me to find the best version of every lyric,Inch she shared. InchWhen I listen back, I'm so proud of the time we spent, because every single line is deliberate. I challenged myself to write just to write. No love songs this time around. Torbitt and I wanted to create a record that felt like you cracked open the ooze in my head. There are a lot of layers to me but I only recently through age and experience have fully accepted the weird little nuances that I'm made of. I'm a messy introvert that pretends to be an extrovert so I can feel like I fit in. Inch From top to bottom, I Am What I'm Waiting For is sincere. It's a fresh take on a timeless sound, and Kendra exudes power. InchMy heart has always been in soul music,Inch she shared. InchOn this record, you'll hear my influences and then some. You'll hear all the bits of me... The vulnerable bits, the silly bits, all of it. This record is my melting pot. Inch Whether you're a longtime listener or ju

The Shins - Oh Inverted World - 20th Anniversary Remaster - VINYL LP

Deluxe vinyl LP pressing. Oh, Inverted World, the earth-shattering, indie-rock-redefining 2001 debut album by The Shins, is presented here in it's finest form, dressed up all nice for it's 20th birthday. The classic tunes get new life by way of a full remastering job under band leader James Mercer's watchful eye, the art is given a little extra zest via a die-cut jacket and a classy inner sleeve, and the package is rounded off with a big ol' booklet with vintage photos, handwritten lyrics, and more. The music, of course, is obviously essential. Aside from a friendly reminder that this is the album with the smash hit InchNew Slang,Inch as heard in the hit movie Garden State, we just need to note that the remastering job truly makes this the album James Mercer always wanted it to be. Never quite satisfied with the sonics of the original, Mercer took the 20th anniversary of the album as his opportunity to finally set the (literal!) record straight. And the results sound stellar great for new fans, and well worth the attention of those already on board! Album Tracks 1. Caring Is Creepy 2. One By One All Day 3. Weird Divide 4. Know Your Onion! 5. Girl Inform Me 6. New Slang 7. The Celibate Life 8. Girl on the Wing 9. Your Algebra 10. Pressed in a Book 11. The Past and Pending

Queen - A Night At The Opera - VINYL LP
    5.0(5)

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing in embossed gatefold jacket. Half-Speed Master. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by Queen, originally released in 1975. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker and Queen, it was reportedly the most expensive album ever recorded at the time of it's . Queen was straining at the boundaries of hard rock and heavy metal on Sheer Heart Attack, but they broke down all the barricades on A Night at the Opera, a self-consciously ridiculous and overblown hard rock masterpiece. Using the multi-layered guitars of it's predecessor as a foundation, A Night at the Opera encompasses hard rock (InchDeath on Two Legs,Inch InchSweet LadyInch), pop (the lovely, shimmering InchYou're My Best FriendInch), campy British music hall (InchLazing on a Sunday Afternoon,Inch InchSeaside RendezvousInch), and mystical prog rock (Inch'39,Inch InchThe Prophet's SongInch), eventually bringing it all together on the pseudo-operatic InchBohemian Rhapsody.Inch In short, it's a lot like Queen's own version of Led Zeppelin IV, but where Zep find dark menace in bombast, Queen celebrate their own pomposity. No one in the band takes anything too seriously, otherwise the arrangements wouldn't be as ludicrously exaggerated as they are. But the appeal - and the influence - of A Night at the Opera is in it's detailed, meticulous productions. It's prog rock with a sense of humor as well as dynamics, and Queen never bettered their approach anywhere else. Album Tracks 1. Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...) 2. Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon 3. I'm in Love with My Car 4. You're My Best Friend 5. '39 6. Sweet Lady 7. Seaside Rendezvous 8. The Prophet's Song 9. Love of My Life 10. Good Company 11. Bohemian Rhapsody 12. God Save the Queen
