Great DVD player for the money.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. I gave it to him early because we went to Disneyworld in Orlando a few weeks before Christmas. He hates to ride in the car for any length of time but he watched a movie going and coming home. He also watches it at home! It was definitely worth the money.

A/V cable is worthless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Player works fine, but the reason we got it was to plug it into the hotel tv when we traveled. A/V cable is 10" - too short to even reach any tv connections - and the connectors are FEMALE. The connections on every tv are FEMALE. The A/V cable connectors should be MALE. Whose genius idea was that?!

Great value and quality!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I typically buy Insignia brand which is Best Buys own brand and I've always had good luck. This DVD unit is reasonably priced and although I just recently purchased it, I know it will last a long time since this is my fourth or fifth Insignia DVD unit for all my kids when we travel. I don't want to talk negatively about other brands but based on my own experience I do have to mention that I've tried several other brands such as RCA, Phillips, and Sony and none of them have outlasted Insignia. Based on these experiences over many years with these portable DVD units I would certainly recommend Insignia brand.

Insignia 9" Portable DVD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my twin boys for out 2009 Chevy Suburban. I also bought the mount that attaches to the headrest assembly mounts (silver poles that headrest sits on) I can plug the DVD into the cigarette lighter in the back of the center console. The speaker is ok and plays louder with some DVD's. I recommend buting an external speaker and plugging it into the earplug input on the side of the DVD player. I have a JBL flip and it works terrific and makes the DVD sound terrific. I mounted the external JBL Flip speaker under the DVD mount with black twist ties. The DVD has a nice clear 9" screen shich is a good size for the middle of the truck. Hope this post helps you make a good decision! Enjoy!

Great for those long trips
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this DVD player up to replace an ancient 7" one that finally gave up and died and I have been very pleased with it so far. The larger screen area and better sound quality over are old portable DVD player has been a big hit with our 3 year old. Haven't had any issues with skipping disks, and the video picks up right where you leave off if you make a stop. The only thing I wish it had right out of the box would have been a mounting system. I was able to get one that fit it perfectly from the Internet, but the mount is so simple and inexpensive that it would be a nice thing to include. The plastic construction feels a bit "thin", so we will have to see how it holds up in the long run.

Great for in the car.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it! I'm in the oil field and we have down time. I find having this DVD player kills time for me. It works off of a car charger or about 2 hours battery. The screen can pivot 180 degrees. Makes it easy to see at all angles. I can turn it off. Then turn it back on and it will play where I left off in the movie.

Served us well on vacation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We used this portable DVD player to keep my daughter entertained for both legs of a 18 hour vacation road trip. We used the cigarette power adaptor in the car, an it dutifully served its purpose constantly through out the trip. We also bought and inexpensive cable at WalMart and hooked it up to the TV at the hotel where it continued to work without issue. We treated it as carefully as anything else we took, but did not baby it by any means. It seemed fairly durable. Overall we have been pleased with our purchase thus far.

Q: QuestionCar UseCan these be attached to the back of driver and passenger seats?
Asked by mcbmama3.
- A:Answer There was (somewhat surprisingly) nothing in the box to do this with. I found a very inexpensive headrest mounting sleeve (it was less than $10) online that the dvd player fit perfectly in. This sleeve is super simple to attach to the headrest and is really the kind of thing that should have been included with the dvd player in the first place.
