Last one in stock! Saved me in a pinch.
||Posted .As the title says this inexpensive little mic really helped me out with a last minute video interview project. It was the last one in stock, and the only lapel mic at the store. Didn't have much choice which was disappointing and I was hesitant to try the insignia mic. I have had good experiences with insignia tvs but nothing else. So I bought it and first thing I noticed was it came with a go pro adapter which was a nice bonus. I wish it would work with my sony a6000. The 3.5mm jack seemed to be made pretty well. The cable is nice and long, sometimes a bit cumbersome but could come in handy. The mic and clip are standard nothing really stands about either which is fine with me as long as it works well. It does work well, and in fact exceeded my expectations for the price in terms of features, performance, and compatibility. Since my a6000 doesn't have external mic support I used my iPhone for recording audio. I have an iPhone 7 plus and a 6S. I used the voice memo to record audio with this mic and on both devices the audio was very clear and crisp whether or not the lightning to 3.5mm adapter had to be used. Even on very windy days using the foam on the mic made wind noise virtually nonexistent. Way better quality then samples from Bluetooth wireless lapel mics I heard from classmates. Very good value and a must have for any videographers camera bag.

Not bad
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Cable is really long! I got this for my youtube videos. I tried without microphone and with microphone. There is noticeable difference! Im using with my iphone, you can get lightning to 3.5mm aux adapter then you can use with iphone which doesn't have headphone jack. I tested it's working.

Good Lapel Microphone
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I'm a vocalist. Initially, I needed a mic to record my voice - without accompaniment - and send the file to my director. The Lapel mic performed well. The 2nd project - a different challenge - was to record my voice, with an accompaniment. I even bought a new CD player from Best Buy, hoping to get the best quality of sound from the new player when playing the accompaniment on a CD and recording BOTH using the Lapel Mic. The result was disappointing. It picked up my voice nicely, but not the CD playing in the background. I think I should have purchased a desktop mic. Advice is welcome!

Remarkable especially for the price
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed.I bought this as I had a video interview to do and I needed good sound input, but as I don't do these all the time, I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I was initially considering getting a shotgun mic as it'd be pretty decent for the capture and may be versatile for other possible uses, but I saw this, and it was a great price. Plus, Insignia is usually at least decent. I wasn't let down. Easy to use with our D850, there's a nice long cable and the mic fit to my subjects jacket really well. Sound quality was quite good with no weird noises and I didn't need to do any corrections to the audio, so I was excited!

Great Mic! Worth the price!
||Posted .I wanted to get a lapel mic to use with my Galaxy 9 plus. When I was recording videos or vlogs I was getting a lot of room noise/echo and my voice sounded push back in the mix. So I knew I needed a mic. This mic has a very long cord which is great if you're connecting it to a camera on a tripod. Has a power option for cameras that need a powered mic or you can use it unpowered with smart devices. So when using it with my Galaxy 9 plus I will never have to use batteries. When I plugged it into my Galaxy phone, it recognized the mic was connected and started pulling audio from it straight away. I seen a lot of reviews about cheap lapel mics and this one was the best. They were a little bit more then your average cheap lapel mic but the overall sound was way better and the adapters and bag was a nice touch. If you have the money and you want something decent with a few bells and whistles this would be it.

Excellent mike for selfie videos
||Posted .This inexpensive mic has excellent sound quality, works well with cameras and most phones, is dead simple to use, it's unobtrusive and has a very long cord. It's a good choice for selfie videos where it's just you and the camera on a tripod and you're not going to be moving around much. Tip: Be careful where you wear this kind of mic, it can sound a little muffled if there are too many layers of clothes (lapels, scarves, etc.) between it and your lips. The closer to your mouth or throat the better. The long black cord is very helpful, but don't forget you're wearing it and trip over the cord or walk away and pull your camera over. Also it takes a battery (not included) and remember to turn it off or it'll go dead pretty quickly. You can spend more on a lavalier/lapel mic but this one does a great job.

Q: QuestionI bought this to use on my GoPro 4 silver But every time I do I'm the background I can hear loud cracking over my speaking
Asked by Joe.
- A:Answer I had same issue when using with my Samsung Galaxy S3. Did you see the tips in the manual? • Clip mic upside down (prevent breathing noises) • Put as close to audio source as possible Even when I did this...I still had static/ambient cracking noise • There was a comment in manual on Page 7 about taping wire to inside of shirt: "Tape a loose loop of the microphone cord to inside of your clothing. This provides additional strain relief for the microphone cord AND ISOLATION FROM UNWANTED NOISE." After about 20m+ of testing...turning off fans in the room, etc. Holding mic to mouth, clipping it etc...I finally just ran wire under my shirt and clipped it. It removed a ridiculous amount of the ambient/cracking/static I was previously experiencing. I was about to return this thing. Didn't think that would make that much difference...but I guess it makes sense...that entire wire is transmitting the audio signal.

Q: QuestionWould this work for a wedding ceremony outside to where it picks up the Brides voice while the groom wears it ? And if not can anyone recommend something that does that is AFFORDABLE for a broke bride.. Thanks in advance ...
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This is the only thing I use mics for.. and it definitely picks up the bride also. Brides face grooms, so if the groom is wearing it, it will pick it up.
