  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Fit more dishes in every load and be confident they’ll come out sparkling. LG's QuadWash four powerful spray arms clean from multiple angles to get dishes clean the first time—without extra rinsing or scrubbing and Dynamic Dry provides ultimate drying performance for the finishing touch of shine. EasyRack Plus and customizable tines easily make room for tall stemware above or oversized pans below. And with 48 LoDecibel quiet operation, you can run the dishwasher whenever you want.

  • QuadWash Technnology: LG’s exclusive QuadWash technology gets dishes clean the first time. With four spray arms instead of just two, QuadWash uses Multi-Motion arms that rotate back and forth while spinning to power-clean dishes from multiple angles throughout the entire cycle.
  • Dynamic Dry Technology: Drying clean dishes by hand just to be able to unload the dishwasher is a huge time suck—but not anymore. Dynamic Dry technology on all LG dishwashers uses a 2-stage drying system for faster, more complete drying.
  • EasyRack Plus: EasyRack Plus lets you fit more dishes, run fewer loads and make short work of after-dinner cleanup. With three height settings, the upper rack adjusts effortlessly and smoothly to make room for tall stemware on top or oversize pans below.
  • Third Rack: From flatware to long-handled utensils to mini tart pans, items that may otherwise need to be washed by hand finally have their place in the dishwasher. The convenient 3rd rack holds more items so you can save time and wash fewer loads.
  • PrintProof Finish: PrintProof finish resists fingerprints and smudges to keep your kitchen looking its best. All the things you love about stainless steel appliances - the premium look, professional-grade durability - without needing special cleaners or constant attention.
  • Front Control Panel With LED Display: The control panel is conveniently placed on the front of the dishwasher for immediate access to every feature and setting. And with the easy-to-read LED display, you can check the status of your dishes with just a glance.
  • LoDecibel Operation (48 dB): Run the dishwasher whenever you want—day or night. The 48 dB cleaning cycle is whisper-quiet, so you won’t worry about interrupting post-dinner-party conversations or naptime. Especially important for homes with open floor plans where sound readily travels.
  • NFC Tag On Technology: What if you could customize your washer or dryer so it only has the cycles you want? LG’s NFC Tag-On technology lets you download new cycles directly from your smartphone. Download the app, select your new cycle and touch, or “tag,” your LG appliance to download your selection.
  • 10-Year Warranty on Inverter Direct Drive Motor: LG’s efficient Inverter Direct Drive motor has fewer moving parts and no belts for powerful cleaning that uses less energy and saves you money. It performs so reliably it’s backed by a 10-year limited warranty for added peace of mind.

Q: Is there an easily removable food strainer or does it have to be unscrewed?

A: Remove the lower rack and position the bottom spray arm so a wider vee is open to the front. Turn the inner filter counter-clockwise and take out the assembled inner filter and stainless steel filter. With the filters removed, check the sump opening and remove any foreign materials, if needed. Clean the filters with a soft brush under running water. Reassemble the filters before reinstalling them. To replace the assembled filters, position the spray arm so the wider vee is toward the front. Fit the filters back into the filter holder and secure them by turning the inner filter clockwise until it clicks into place. ^Daphane

Q: How is the drying in this machine(LDFN4542S) different from LDF5545SS model?. What's the advantage and limitations?

A: I can't speak to the other model you're comparing it to but if you use Rinse Aid and set the machine for the Extra Dry cycle AND load it properly so that water collectable basins on your dishes face down as much as possible the machine seems to do well, No machine has ever been perfect and plastic is a problem for all dishwashers as are oddly shaped dishes that allow water pools in multiple places. Unload at the bottom first so the upper rack doesn't splash to the bottom and just try not to overload the machine and I think it will be fine. What towel drying I have had to do hasn't bothered me so far.

Q: Does this have a hard food disposal?

A: No, this unit does not have a hard food disposal. The dishwasher can be connected via the drain hose to the garbage disposal. ^Daphane

Q: Where are the water spray arms located?

A: The water spray arms are below the upper rack (not the 3rd utensil rack at very top) and also below the lower rack. Thanks!

Q: To be NSF certified(NSF/ANSI 184), a dishwasher must: "Achieve a minimum 99.999% reduction of bacteria, reach a final rinse temperature of 150º, and unit operated on the sanitizing cycle". How does this dishwasher sanitize without a sanitize cycle?

A: Great question! For your reference the NSF certification, the steam model dishwashers the NSF is tested during the steam function, for non-steam models the NSF is tested during the high temp cycle. If the high temp option is added to the cycle, the indicator light will stay lit while the temperature get to 150 degrees and the dishes are properly sanitized. ^Jennifer

Q: Do the dishwasher light up when running?

A: The dishwasher has an electronic timer which lights up and let’s you know how long your cycle will run. It counts down and remains lit while you are running the dishwasher.

    Great dishwasher

I’ve been using the LG 24" Front Control Built-In Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher for a few months now, and I have to say, it’s been a game changer in my kitchen! The sleek stainless steel finish looks fantastic, and the front control panel is super easy to use. I love how the QuadWash technology gets my dishes sparkling clean without all the noise—it's so quiet at 48dBA that I barely notice it’s running. The extra third rack is a lifesaver for fitting in all my utensils, and the flexible loading options make it really easy to organize everything. While I’ve noticed that some dishes come out a bit damp, it’s still been an excellent choice for keeping my kitchen running smoothly!

    Clean Look, Very quiet

Cleans very well and really quiet! It’s quiet relative to our previous 15 year GE model. I do like the top shelf (3rd) shelf for utensils and stuff like small bowls even Vertuo coffee pods (reusable). The different settings/Cycles were a bit confusing at first. I wasn’t exactly sure on which settings worked best for a standard load of dishes. The buttons are a little hard to read but once you learn them it sorta doesn’t matter. Now I did encounter trouble placing dishes correctly you do need to read the manual for this because the shelves will get hung up on the dishes below it (annoying). Called customer support because my open box purchase was missing the “kick” plate that covers the bottom of the unit so that you don’t see any of the hoses and wires. I had to call twice because replacement item was not shipped yet and received an email from two different people asking questions. I just need the item replaced please. Overall I’m satisfied with the performance and would recommend

    Excellent dishwasher, with unique features.

I have had this wonderful dishwasher for almost 4 weeks, and I could not be more satisfied. It appears to be well made, so I anticipate being extremely satisfied. Some interesting details: it is very quiet—not silent, but quiet enough that it’s not annoying even when I’m in the kitchen. It’s very efficient and cleans even baked on food—with a caveat: the instructions MUST be followed! I usually use it’s “automatic” cycle, which sets its functions to do it’s thing in the best way. But that doesn’t work on baked on food. The instructions have the solution! They recommend doing a rinse cycle after putting the baked on dishes in the washer. It’s only 12 minutes, without soap, and there’s no drying—everything stays damp literally all day if that’s done in the morning before doing a normal “automatic” wash cycle. And then, presto, everything comes out clean as a whistle. Wow! So believe the instructions. The instructions also insist that a liquid rinse aid MUST be used. And that’s also true, because the drying cycle is different from every other dishwasher. There is no heating element, only a fan and time. So I run the “automatic” cycle at night before going to bed, and I set “overnight dry”, which is a form of extra dry. In the morning, the dishes are spotlessly clean, and they are completely dry. Wow! Besides the “rinse” and “automatic” settings, I have used the “heavy” setting once, to wash the grids from my gas range. Wow again! They came out absolutely clean. Incidentally, I installed the dishwasher myself. The installation instructions are clear and easy to follow. The only difficulty I had was that the old dishwasher had been installed with truly cobbled plumbing, which I had to remove before doing it right. I’m not a plumber, so that took some effort. Also, because there’s not a lot of room under the dishwasher because of its large cavity, I’m glad I have small fingers to connect the plumbing and electricity. Lastly, I have to complement the guys who brought it. Just like every other appliance I have purchased from Best Buy, it was delivered early—scheduled for 2 to 6, and delivered shortly after noon, and they brought it in carefully. Great service!
