  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Maytag dishwashers featuring the third level rack with specialized wash zone deliver more loading space and cleaning power, while heated dishwasher drying options reduce excess moisture. Plus, dual power filtration, a quality dishwasher filtration system, disintegrates any food in its path, letting you skip the soaking, scrubbing, and prerinsing.

Dishwasher Buying Guide

  • Dual power filtration: Skip soaking, scrubbing and pre-rinsing with Maytag engineering that puts an end to pre-work. Industry-exclusive Dual Power Filtration combines 100% microfiltration and a 4-blade stainless steel chopper to filter out then dispose of any food in its path.
  • 3rd level rack: Put more utensils in the Maytag 3rd level rack. With a specialized wash zone and room for mugs and bowls, this distinct design brings more loading space and cleaning power straight to the top of the dishwasher.
  • PowerBlast cycle: The PowerBlast cycle scours away stubborn foods, such as egg yolk, peanut butter, and even dried-on oatmeal. High-pressure jets, increased water temperatures, and hot steam work together to clear food off dishes, so all you have to do is load them in.
  • Touch controls: You're in control with a simple tap of your finger. Smooth, tap-to-activate settings give you quick and seamless access to powerful cleaning.
  • Long Heated Dry option: Up the temperature with an internal heater to reduce excess moisture inside your dishwasher. The Long Heated Dry option gets large loads of dishes nice and dry.
  • Short Heated Dry option: Reduce excess moisture inside your dishwasher, and get smaller loads of dishes nice and dry in less time.
  • Leak Detect: The Leak Detect system is a combination of multiple features that measure and monitor the flow of water at various points. If a problem is sensed, the unit can take action by draining the tub and alerting you when necessary.
  • 10-Year Limited Parts Warranty: Maytag dishwashers are covered by a 10-year limited parts warranty* on the racks, chopper blade and stainless steel tub. So when we say you can count on your dishwasher for years, we mean it.
  • Sani Rinse option: The Sani Rinse option lets you confidently wash important items with a high-temperature rinse that removes 99.999% of food soil bacteria.
  • Full stainless steel tub: The full stainless steel tub is built of stainless steel from top to bottom, so it's tough enough to handle high heat and resist cracking and staining for years.

Q: Will the washer adjust to fit a 33 5/8 high opening?

A: Mike, you are able to reduce the height by removing the legs on the dishwasher.

Q: Is there a food filter that still needs to be manually cleaned even though there is a food grinder?

A: There is a small food strainer in the bottom of the tub that may need to be cleaned from time to time. This most likely protects the pump from any incidentally small objects like hard food or broken glass or anything else that is small that might otherwise get caught up in the pump. Very easy to pop out and pop back in.

Q: Does this model have a food chopper blade?

A: TiredofDishes, yes, this Dishwasher has a food grinder.

Q: Since you cannot see the controls when the door is closed, I'm assuming that you have to set the cycles and push the start button "before" you close the door, and you cannot see the lights on the control after it is closed?

A: Correct, you can not see it and yes you push start and close the door but the light to let you know when it is running and when it is finished is on the front clear to see.

Q: Do the lower & middle racks have adjustable (fold down) tines? What are the cycle times, shortest to longest?

A: It doesn’t have fold down tines on the racks. You can raise and lower the middle rack but that’s the only adjustment. Cycle times: Rinse :23, Quick 1:10, Normal 2:53, Auto 2:53, Powerblast 3:28.

Q: Can the heated drying cycle be turned off, or do you have to catch it and open the door to stop it?

A: Hit the drying button 2 or 3 times, I can't remember exactly, until the drying options turn off before you hit the Start button

Q: Is the middle rack adjustable on this model?

A: GMcR, yes, the middle rack of this Dishwasher is adjustable! Hopefully, this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!

Q: How long does it take to run through the cycles

A: We use only the Hi Temp Wash feature (no Sani Rinse or heated dry): Power Blast 2 hours 32 minutes Auto (our “normal” setting) 2 hours 32 minutes Normal 2 hours 33 minutes Quick 1 hour 10 minutes Rinse 23 minutes If Sani Rinse is added to Normal, the time is 3 hours 4 minutes. If Short heated dry is added to Normal+Sani Rinse the time is 3 hours 25 minutes; Long heated dry is 3 hours 31 minutes. This is really a great dishwasher. It is very quiet and the 3rd rack is really functional. With that, it holds A LOT of dishes and….. they get CLEAN with the Auto cycle + Hi Temp wash + Jet Dry. We highly recommend it.

    An Amazing Dishwasher!

After returning lemon GE DW we went with this Maytag. My dh & I both had the $1200 Bosch when we combined our households. The Bosch racks are not user friendly & we both had repairs and poor washing experience. My Fisher Pykel was worse. I wasn't thrilled about having a "low end" Maytag in my kitchen. Boy was I wrong! This is a work horse with a third rack (see picture.) We are both cooks & use tons of greasy dishes & silverware daily. We've never used the heavy duty cycle; haven't needed to. Everything is sparkling. It's super quiet & the third rack allows so much capacity. Mid-range cost with top tier (lol, 3 tiers) performance! Six months & not one complaint. Love this dishwasher!

    Support Maytag!

our home originally had a 20 yr old maytag dishwasher in it when we moved in almost 4 yrs ago..fast forward a yr or so later we decided to purchase a Samsung 5650 disher which was discontinued after we purchased it and was a nightmare for entire time we owned it of almost 2 yrs..finally was granted a replacent and was in search of new one.. After doing some homework and looking at dishwashers at local retailer near us my daughter had pointed out a kitchen aide model that looked really good..unpon doing comparisons and who made what..decided on this dishwasher because of it functions and cleaning capability...it happened to be same model as kitchen aide priced $250 more and made at same place in Ohio as kitchen aide n whirlpool just with the lower price tag n maytagvname to it.. THIS DISHWASHER IS SUPER QUITE! Cleans well n efficiently n has a ton of space to cut down on amount of times you have to run ur machine each week..Dishes n silverware come out sparkling clean no residue left behind..hubby n i are super happy with replacement purchase n hubby said i did my homework well.. Whirlpool makes Maytag n Kitchen Aide as well their own brand of whirlpool dishwashers and are all rated amongst top 10 of consumers picks for dishwashers on youtube..remember to support the men n women who build these appliances for us proudly here in the USA.. Very Very pleased with purchase!!!

    Excellent dishwasher!

We purchased this dishwasher to replace our current one after the pump motor failed, and I now see the value in a non-plastic tub and third rack. Normally I am pretty skeptical of a lot of features in modern appliances because they seem either gimmicky, designed to break or need service. In the case of this Maytag that doesn't appear to be the case with all of its features being both useful and functional. For example the third rack is honestly a game changer, being able to load flatware, and even things like tongs and small bowls saves so much space for other dishes in the second rank and in the silverware basket. Which helps avoid the issues caused by longer items being the basket, which can block the spray arms from spinning. Overall the dishwasher cleans very well, the brief selection of cycles is more than enough - and I typically only run quick cycles anyway. Most glassware is dry even after an hour wash, with only plastics remaining damp, which is more of an issue with the material not the dishwasher. Installation was mostly painless too, my only complaint being that the water inlet is made of plastic and most hook ups use metal so you can run the risk of easily misthreading onto the plastic and damaging the threads. I highly recommend this if you are in the market for a new dishwasher!
