Meet the Fockers [WS] [DVD] [2004]

Meet the Fockers, the most successful live-action comedy ever at the time of its release, debuts on DVD with a variety of extras that will not disappoint those who enjoyed the feature-heavy release of Meet the Parents. In addition to a commentary track recorded by director Jay Roach and editor Jon Poll, four featurettes offer a behind-the-scenes look at various aspects of production. One follows the propmasters as they create the "manary gland." This disc offers viewers the chance to experience an extended version of the film that contains scenes that were trimmed from the theatrical release. A disappointing blooper reel has been included as well. The film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English, French, and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. This is a solid presentation of a huge box-office hit.

    Meet the Fockers
After suffering the humiliation of being given the third degree by his girlfriend's father, one man now faces the even more embarrassing task of introducing his own mother and father in this star-studded sequel to the box-office smash Meet the Parents. After getting off on the wrong foot (to put it mildly) with his prospective in-laws, Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) has finally won the grudging approval of Jack and Dina Byrnes (Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner) to marry their daughter Pam (Teri Polo). But after clearing the first hurdle, now Greg has to face an even bigger challenge -- introducing the straight-laced Byrnes family to his folks, free-spirited sex therapist Roz (Barbra Streisand) and eccentrically open-minded Bernie, who blend with Pam's parents not quite as well as oil and water. Meet the Fockers was directed by Jay Roach, who handled the same chores for Meet the Parents. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Better film than the 1st GOOD NOT PERFECT FILM

I Like this film better than the 1st. Why. Adding Dustin Hoffman & Barbra Streisand. I am not a fan of Barbra’s but she & Dustin were great in their roles to me. Added with DeNiro 3 Oscar winners. The 3 of them with Blythe Danner are perfect in their roles. Teri Polo has a role that is just a watcher of course. Now, I am NOT a fan of Ben Stiller. He does his usual routine in this role as he did in the 1st & in “There’s Something About Mary”. Same lying, put out then blows his top role. Wish they could have gotten a better actor for the role. And, we MOST DEFINITELY could have done WITHOUT Owen Wilson in both films. As for the DVD, it is a good package. I like extras & this one has the kind I like. Deleted scenes, bloopers, etc. A BIG MINUS FOR THE DVD, IT HAS THE HORRIBLE LITTLE FLIP OPEN FLAPS ON IT. Otherwise, you should enjoy the film.

I think this is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I nearly peed in my pants I was laughing so hard. I'd definately recommend this movie to anyone! "Meet the Fockers" is about Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) and his crazy, liberal parents meeting his fiance-Pam's (Teri Polo) conservative parents. We go through all the hilarious struggles that Greg has to deal with. Now go get some popcorn and prepare to laugh!

      Great movie!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and laughed all the way through it! I also bought Meet The Parents and thought that was very entertaining and then I didn't think that would be outdone but this movie is the sequel and very seldom does a sequel hold up to the original and this one sure does. I can watch it over and over again and still find it very funny! Great entertainment!

      Worst comedy ever!!!

This movie has comedy which is not funny. When I was a kid, I liked it. Of course because it was funny but that's when I didn't comprehend things and not see things through my critic eyes. Watching it now and I'm older, god I want to travel in time and slap myself in the face and be like "No! No!!!" I just can't stand that movie.

Love the movie/polt, actors & acting.

Love the movie/polt, actors & acting. Bought for my Parents as a refresher (they've seen it when it came out) so they can see the 3rd one in the theatre. I already own a copy for myself.
