Bought Two, Happy with Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great phone and highly recommended if: you don't game you don't need the latest and greatest camera(s) you don't use NFC (Google Pay) Background: I had to replace my mom's phone so I decided on the Moto G Power, but two of the reviews said the phone was "Made in India", so I bought one for myself because I'm from India and I was happy to see that some made in India phones were available in the US as many manufacturers have now built factories in India. HOWEVER, the two phones I bought were not made in India, they are made in China. It's possible that maybe earlier batches were made in India, but the ones on the shelves at my local Best Buy were not Indian-made. I almost returned one of the phones because I did not NEED a new phone, but decided on keeping it because I wanted to minimize my interaction with people during Covid. The Phone: Now to the phone itself. It does everything pretty well. The two G's were bought to replace a Moto E4 Plus and a Google Pixel XL (first-gen). Everything is better on the Moto G Power vs. the Moto E4 Plus. Everything is better on the Moto G Power vs. the OG Pixel XL besides camera and the befuddling lack of NFC (cheaper Nokias have it, this makes no sense Motorola/Lenovo). Camera: The camera is good outdoors in decent lighting. I added a GCam mod and that improved things considerably to almost as good as my Pixel XL. Even photos using Night Sight and all the other Pixel features looked pretty good (photo attached to review ). Battery: I do not game, so I can't speak to that, but day to day experience is great. The battery is out of this world. The E4 Plus also had a 5000mah battery, but had probably degraded over the years. My Pixel XL gave me about 3 hrs screen-on-time at first, but over time had dropped down to about 1.5 hrs max. With one hour of SOT currently, the battery % has only dropped to 93%. For the last year or so, I had been carrying around a powerbank if I had to leave the house for more than a couple hours, but with the Moto G Power, that appears to be a thing of the past.

Initial impression is really good - I like it!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous phone was a bargain model from about 3 years ago which I was forced to replace because it didn't have VoLTE capability. This is a significant improvement in all respects. Now, I have only had it a few days, and things like performance may degrade over time, but so far, very good. Camera takes decent pictures - not the very highest quality but good enough for most purposes. Good colors, and handles bright light well. Two samples attached. Low light will challenge any camera (phone or stand alone) and this one does ok with that too, within limitations. If you take a selfie in poor light, it lights up the whole screen white to provide more light! All the other things I've tried out work pretty well. Only downside is that it's pretty big and a little on the heavy side, especially when you add a case. If you carry your phone around all the time you'll get a workout. The tradeoff there is that it has a large screen (which really looks good!) and that big 5000 mAh battery. The battery does seem to last pretty well - a 40 minute Zoom call used up about 10% (compared to 50% on my old phone), and generated a lot less heat.

Very Good Phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Moto g7 and now this. This is a step up big time with the stereo speakers... they are huge upgrade.. sound is exceptional. Call volume could be louder though. Camera takes great daytime photos... flagship quality... but obviously at night they are not that great. But for price difference between this and flagship I can buy an amazing slr... which will take better pictures than any cell phone at night. I don't use video that much. Wide-angle send to take good pictures too...but I don't use often. These phones are very fragile so make sure you have a extremely protective case... but this is true of iPhone too... since glass body. Internet seems sluggish but it may be where I'm using my phone... not sure yet. I would but this phone again in a heart beat... better than a lot of flagship phones or there... and for the price it's almost free.

Impressive phone! Moto G wins again.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had the phone for less than 24 hours, but out-of-box it's excellent! My impressions, not a review: Fit/Finish super, not too heavy/bulky for big battery, everything works as designed. No ghost touches, LTE, wifi 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and bluetooth connectivity and performance flawless. Shipped/delivered on time. Popped in Nano Sim from my iPhone 7 to this moto g power, logged into Google, easy! Calls/texts worked right away on AT&T. (First turn off iMessage on iPhone before Sim swap) Great upgrade. Connected to Chromebook, Messages for the Web works wonderfully! Stereo speakers super loud, had to turn down. Display surprisingly superb, sharp, better than iPhone 7! Internal storage initially at 48GB free, battery at 52%, made in India on 1-20-20. Being new, downloaded, installed, and updated tons of apps and stuff and the phone *never* got hot in any spot, I really didn't even notice warmth. Have not gamed yet but lots of camera time and streaming audio. Love the ultra-wide cam, macro, and front selfie cameras! Android 10 great, has come a long way. I'll probably write a proper review on my blog at Jason Journals .com. A steal at $250!

Bought for my wife
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this one for my wife and she loves it....A big Hit and she loves the 64 GB storage. She loves the bigger size compared to her older one. In the pictures you see the quality of the camera how great it is. She also bought a case for it that she loves...would definitely buy again. Bought this at Best Buy November 5, 2020.

Q: QuestionI am currently with Verizon and would like to stay with them. Does the Moto g8 power work with Verizon? They said I need the IMEI #, but I have to buy the phone to get the #. If it does not work, can I return the phone? Thank You
Asked by Dom.
- A:Answer Good Morning, I bought the new Moto Power and it's been the best phone decision I have ever made. Like you, I am also with Verizon and was a little worried about switching to a phone that Verizon does not sell online or in their stores (they do sell Moto Phones - just not a lot). My experience was when I ordered it online, Best Buy.com gave me the option of choosing my carrier which I clicked on Verizon. They sent the phone with the Verizon sim card and once I put in the card and turned it on. I was good to go. Verizon does charge a one time activation fee. You should have no issues with returns. Go to BB website and to the chat box. Ask them what the return policy is (it's usually 15 days). I hope this helps? Mark

Q: QuestionDoes this phone have wifi calling feature? Moto g7 power unlocked did not have this..
Asked by Mikei.
- A:Answer No--Not on Verizon. Didn't know this until I purchased the phone and spent an hour on a call with a Verizon rep. It was a deal breaker, so I had to return it. Bought the Verizon version on their website.
Answered by MotoFan
Q: QuestionHow long will the $150 off w/activation sale go for? And if I'm currently with Verizon, can I add this phone to my account and enjoy the $150 off sale?
Asked by Ike.
- A:Answer the answer I always get is that it has to be a new number, not an existing one for the discount

Q: QuestionMy service is currently with AT&T on a family plan. If I buy the "activate later" version of the unlocked phone can I simply remove my current SIM Card from my current phone and place it in the new phone and be on my way? Nothing else needs to be done?
Asked by NeoStar.
- A:Answer I am also on an AT&T plan, long out of contract and not interested in getting tied into a new contract. I purchased this phone under the activate later option, and it worked just fine without having to involve anyone at AT&T. I bought mine in the store, and my Best Buy rep used their adapter equipment to transfer all of my personal files over to the new phone from my ancient HTC One. Very smooth process!

- A:Answer No. This phone doesn't come with any SIM card. You can use your current SIM card on this phone as long as your carrier is compatible with this phone. Check this link to see all compatible carriers: https://www.motorola.com/us/carrier-compatibility. -Jess
