A Masterful Story About Revenge and Redemption
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Steven Spielberg's Munich is a fantastic look into the world of revenge and redemption. During the Olympic Games in Munich, we know that several athletes were assassinated. This movie shows the fictional aftermath of that tragedy. A group of men, all with different skill sets, are hired by a hidden group to kill the killers. Things don't go as planned and the suspense and tension is ratcheted up. Spielberg's reputation is further honored by watching how events play out. For its first time on Blu-ray, the A/V quality is very good. Picture is clear (but expect visual flourishes that Spielberg is known for) and grainy where it has to be. The lossless audio is excellent. When the building explodes, it felt like it was real. The extras are the same from the DVD except you don't get the nice outer cover and the postcards.

Vengeance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film was not well received in some circles upon its initial release due to the political climate of the day. This film was not one of Steven Spielberg's more successful ventures, even with good reviews from most critics. Terrorism was present back in the 1970s and it is still present today and will unfortunately continue into the future. This is a fictional account of the 1972 Summer Olympic killings of the Israel national team and Israel's quest to hunt down the killers and those behind the killings. This film shows the price of vengeance that has to be paid and the heavy toll taken on the people in charge of pursuing those responsible for the murders. This Blu-ray is a Best Buy exclusive. The Blu-ray AV quality is excellent.

Finally got to upgrade this to Blu
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm slowly upgrading my DVD collection to Blu. Whenever I come across a title that needs upgrading, it has to serve two criteria: 1) Is the picture and sound noticeably improved over the DVD? 2) Are all if not most extras from the DD carried over? For Munich, both criteria were met. The price was more than I wanted to pay, but with the movie money, I was almost able to see a matinee showing of Jurassic World for free.

Excellent Historical Film from Steven Spielberg!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was probably one of the better last few movies made by Steven Spielberg. Story was a retelling of the Munich terrorist incident at the Olympics back in the 70s and the after math that took place. The acting and direction were top notch and story had you really hooked and at the edge of your seat. Blu ray disc has excellent audio and visual quality.

Steven Spielberg’s best film of the 2000s
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Munich is one of Spielberg’s most underrated films. It’s often forgotten in rankings of his best films, but I personally believe it to be the best of all of his drama films of the 2000s onwards. I am really happy that it finally got the blu-ray transfer and release that it dearly deserved.

Powerful drama
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Steven Spielberg's amazing re-telling of the Munich massacre and it's aftermath is a powerful document of a part of history. Strong performances, along with intense action scenes, make for a powerful drama that rings true at every turn. A must see for any Spielberg fans or anyone interested in a look back at a dark time in our World. 5 stars.
