Good lens but not great
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is good but I miss the old style that included the VR switch. I've noticed I take more blurred photos with this lens.

Great lens just have to press button to zoom :(
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is a super great lens, however I hate that you have to press the button on the side to move the zoom in and out! The quality is great but just a little unfriendly to use due to having to remember to press the button each time! I take TONS of pics and I need to snap them quickly and remembering to do this is a nuisance!

Very basic lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice lens BUT keep in mind that this AF-P new model, doesn’t have the AF/M manual switch. If you have a D-3300 you hay to do it in the camera’s menu.

Q: QuestionSo I bought this for my D5000, the lens is compact and feels nice and modern but there's one problem. I can't focus it on anything, and since there's no autofocus switch on it then that puts me in a bad spot. Is it just not compatible with my camera?
Asked by JayB.
- A:Answer The AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Zoom Lens is not compatible with the Nikon D5000 Digital SLR Camera. This AF-P 18-55mm lens uses a newer Electromagnetic Pulse motor, indicated in the name by AF-P, which is not compatible with our older cameras. The D5000 will be compatible with any lens uses our Silent Wave Motors indicated by the lens being named AF-S with G and D type apertures.
