Q: Is this a good lens for video with a gimbal ?
A: I’ve used this lens on my Z6ii in conjunction with my Moza AirCross 2 gimbal and it worked great. Gave a nice wide field of view without bringing in the distortion normally seen with wide-angle lenses. The lens also has a very nice background blur for the out of focus areas and a nice fast aperture for lower light situations. The only trouble I ran into was balancing the gimbal’s pitch axis because of how light the lens is compared to my camera.

I replaced my 35mm f1.8 with this lens, and paired it up to the Nikon Z50. It's a very impressive lens and is a great addition to the crop-sensor Z50, making it a 42mm lens when assuming the 1.5x crop factor. It's super sharp, lightweight, and has amazing "bokeh" at f2.8. The colors are spot-on, too...very impressed!

disappointed...I do mostly macro work and this lens is NOT for macro work. the closer you get, the more it hunts. If you use this lens on a Z camera, you have to download software to make it compatible with your camera and you download by tethering your camera to your computer. Another strike against it. Wound up putting a 16-50 DX lens on a Z and captured a much better image. And to think this lens is a 2.8 and can't hold a candle to a 3.5 Now for the return action. And I have to tell you this. I bought this lens at the Edgewood Best Buy. Well let me tell you that the customer service at returns there SUCKS!! Having worked in a customer service environment, I can tell you that there was NO customer focus and rather than mince words with the two associates at the service desk, I just left and hope not to ever return to that store. :o(

A very handy lens that I have been using both indoor and outdoors. At this price point you won't regret having it.
