The Pioneer TS-G680 6" x 8" is a 2-way speaker system with 250 W maximum power handling/40 W continuous power handling. In addition, it has a 30mm Tweeter to enrich high-range reproduction. The speaker cone comprises of polypropylene IMPP cone and a rubber-coated cloth surround giving your music more impact and presence.
G-Series Speakers
This G-series speaker cone has a blend of Mica minerals interlaced with Polypropylene during the injection molding process for sensitivity, low distortion, rigidity, and strength.
Mid-Range Dome
The mid-range is a 30mm PET Balanced Dome producing vibrant high frequencies, and its OFC shorting ring minimizes distortion when you turn up the volume.
P.F.S.S. spider
P.F.S.S Spider supports the voice coil by dampening the large cone vibration enhancing linearity of sound reproduction. Its soft part makes movement smooth to reporoduce clear sound and at excessive input; its hard part controls excessive vibration and prevents movement error.

Good for what they are
Pioneer has always had decent mid-tier speakers for a good price in my book. Their low-mid end tweeters leave a little to be desired in the clarity department (a little harsh, some EQ is needed to get them to sound good), but overall a good budget speaker... like any speaket though, just protect them from the sun. These were a purchase as a retrofit into some factory Delco/Bose housings for an early C4 Corvette (84-89). Bose has their own mounting setup so a simple adapter was required.

Upgrade the speakers in a 25 year old car
Love these speakers! I was surprised how much of a difference it makes from factory to new. Especially since I had GeekSquad install them in my 25 year old Grand Marquis! I would post a picture of them but the install was so clean you’d never know something was done to it!
