I am unable to set the clock on my new microwave even tho I followed instructions After I press 'clock' for setting the time, the numbers do not work when pressed. The numbers do work for setting the cooking time.

You may need to enter a "0" if the time you're trying to set is before noon. The microwave needs 4 numbers even if that number is a zero.

Follow the directions but if the hour is a single digit, enter a zero first, as one of the other replies says to do. It works! Example: 0730, not 730.

Press and hold the clock/timer button until it changes to display the 12/24 hour setting. Choose which setting you want, and then type in the time period.

For early times - before noon, type a zero before the first number, (example: 0832 for 8:32 AM). On the 24 hour setting, for times after noon, add to 12 (example: 20:23 to display 8:23 PM).

When you are done, selecting the time, press the Clock button again to save the setting.

Make sure when pushing the clock button you are just giving a quick push and releasing.

I had no problem at all. Never used or owned a microwave before and followed the directions in the User Manual. Pressed clock and then the numbers to set the time, Maybe you are not pressing the numbers hard enough?? Other than that you may have to bring your new microwave back to the store and have the Geek Squad check it out.

Just be happy that it works without a disgusting odor. There's probably something wrong with the clock since it's suppose to be really easy to setup. Return it if you still can.
