QuestionClearance requirementsThe instructions say you should have 12 inches of clearance above the unit. I only have 3 or 4 inches because of an overhanging cabinet. What are the risks?

- Answer When you heat some foods they give off steam and it rises up. When you don't have 12 inches above then you risk condensation each time you use the unit and that could start a mold problem. If the shelves are wood then you could have a problem with warping from the hot steam. If a shelf is laminated it could lead to the laminate to peal apart. This applies to all microwaves

- Answer Sure can. Internal light is very bright. I use the window to make sure my oatmeal doesn't overflow. :) Great Microwave for the price.

- Answer The colon to my brand new microwave also blinks. I believe you should not worry about the blinking because it is a digital clock.

QuestionWhen I press 1 it times for one hour, 8 for 8 hours. Read directions, tried several times. I want to time in minutes, not hours. I press kitchen timer, 1, start and it goes for an hour.

- Answer Find your "User Guide" booklet that should have come with the microwave. Lots of details are explained on pages 8 and 9. Power levels are also explained. The booklet contains all of this information. If I read it all ( I need to read the power levels, myself, I'll come back and alter my reply later), but look for the "User Guide." : for :Microwave Oven, , Insignia, .7 Cubic feet, NS-7CM6-WH/NS-7CM6-SS/ ( for white) and NS-77CM6-BK ( for black). For Customer Service at "Insignia" phone : 1-877-467-4289. or www..Insigniaproducts.com. The "User Guide" will be needed to set the power levels and a couple of other special features, like your question, and to read the warranty and the info. I have stated here. I would put some water in a coffee cup and practice the procedures. It is basically a wonderful oven and works in a traditional manner.

- Answer Hello there! yes, the Insignia Compact Microwave does have a Kitchen timer that can be used separately. You will be able to locate the instructions on how to operate it in page #12 in the included owners manual. -John Insignia Support.

QuestionDoes the popcorn bag get stuck while turning on the turn table? We just bought a .7 Cu Ft. microwave in another brand and the popcorn bag would not turn with the turn table. It kept getting stuck. This will only be used for popcorn. Thanks!

QuestionI'm having trouble with this microwave. When I press the push button to open the door I have to completely hard press the button to open the microwave. When I do this the microwave moves. Is there something I can do to stop the microwave from moving?

Questionis this microwave UL LISTEDI bought this microwave for my daughter to use in her dorm room. However the school requires for the microwave and refrigerator to be UL listed. The refrigerator I purchased from Insignia says on the box UL listed, but I don't see anything on the box about the microwave. Is this microwave UL LISTED. Thanks.

- Answer We purchased the 700 watt due to dorm room restrictions. Our son has had no issues with its cooking or reheating or any items. A small whole chicken would take a little more time than a larger microwave but still gets the job done

- Answer I believe you should never leave cardboard or paper inside the microwave. I have nothing inside except for the turntable and the rod it is mounted on. It was probably used to pack the turntable and the User Manuals inside the microwave. Definitely remove it
