“How loud is this laptop in terms of fan and / or hard drive noise? Some HP laptops can be considerably loud, all the time. I had one. Any idea how this one compares to other HPs? I would love a quiet laptop.”

This computer is whisper quiet. It should not make any sounds while doing basic work. While charging the laptop and doing intensive tasks the fans may need to kick in to help cool the processor. However modern processors use such a low amount of power, there is no need to have the fan running at full strength 24/7.
