Is the touch screen worth the extra money null

Yes- it makes it convenient when you just want to scroll down a page and click on something. I would try a laptop with an SSD drive. Definitely worth the extra $$$.

Yes, it's good to have a touchscreen on a laptop. There are many times when a touchscreen is a real convenience. Also, if you use a smartphone or tablet, you're used to a touchscreen and at times you will automatically touch the screen on your laptop to scroll, etc. It can be frustrating if the laptop doesn't have a touchscreen.
