YES - i just had this computer open to upgrade the hard drive to a SSD. This model comes with 1 x 8 GB RAM module and has 1 open slot. Contrary to the other post on this question, it can be upgraded to 16GB. It isn't easy getting the case off but more experienced people can do it.

No, the ram can not be expanded to 16 Gb.
