• No, bc it has a wireless reciever built in. You will just connect to your home Wifi network or connect it with a cat5 LAN ethernet cable.

• Thank you for reaching out. You could connect this to WiFi or Wired. If the person you are gifting this to already has internet you can connect it without anything additional. If they do not have WiFi and you want this to be able to move around the house then you will need WiFi. You dont need a Wireless Modem, perhaps just a Wireless Router would do.
