Does my protection plan cover lost or stolen for my Bluetooth headset beats

I don't believe so. The plan covers the product once it becomes damaged or just stops working.

AppleCare doesn't cover "loss" or "theft". However contrary to some comments here, some insurance/protection plans do cover loss or theft viz ATT's mobile insurance protection plan. Also some credit cards cover loss for a limited period after purchase as well as doubling the manufacturers warrantee. it pays to do some quick research.

The warranty covers normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or manufacturer faults. Unfortunately it doesn't cover liost or stolen items, but you should check with your home owners insurance they may.

How can you track earbuds down if they're not in the case

Simple reason that protection plans don't cover loss: What would stop anyone from claiming that they lost something just so that they can get an extremely cheap second set of whatever item they bought. That is not what protection plans are for. If it covered loss, the cost of the plan would be nearly the cost of the item itself.
