“Would this be a good computer to store and edit pictures? I also love downloading music watching DVD/ netflix so would it do a good job for that? How about regular school work? I dont want to spend a fortune either”

You will love the screen for watching Netflix etc. Downloading music won't be a problem but I suggest you plug in some real speakers. Will do well for school work. With the quality of the display it will do fine editing photos.

Keep in mind addition storage may be needed if you are a mega archiver. I edit pictures and family movies regularly on mine and have an additional external 1TD Hard Drive to store them on just for added safe storage. Music storage as well as other day to day useage has been a breeze. The use of Flash drives may help keep your school work portable if you so choose. I have had no issues and it's been a very reliable computer for my home office needs.
