Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I spoke to a friend who had used both Ancestry and 23andMe. She confirmed that 23andMe provided more information regarding health questions and told me some of the genetic markers that were included in her results. I wanted to purchase the additional health and Ancestry service upgrade and called ahead to be sure I could add this to my order. SURPRISE - They actually have a real person that you can talk to! I too am interested in genetically transmitted markers and diseases. I registered the kit on 1/16, mailed it on 1/17 and it was received on 1/21. My results will be available on 2/4. There is a long questionnaire that you will be asked to complete if you opt for the enhanced service (which can be done in sections), and everything is as confidential as you choose. It is a good idea to have some answers to your family history available before you do the survey, i.e. where parents and relatives were born, etc. Check online for comparisons of other companies that provide this testing. I am looking forward to my results and very pleased with my purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you purchase the additional test then yes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I can tell the only thing they inform you is of your heritage/ what your DNA make up is and the other set which includes health does give some information about certain medical things but all they will say is if you have the gene therefore a possibility to get the medical condition in the future and again its a possibility since its them just telling you that you have the gene in you. As for the genetically transmitted diseases no pretty sure that they dont test those things might be best go see local doctor and request that
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no it just tells you your parts of your genealogy. I think you need an OBGY to test you for transmitted disease by lab
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no you have to order medical separate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To get information on hereditary disease diseases you must upgrade your kit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t believe there is i wasn’t asked, unless throughout the questions that they have they will ask you. but if you happen to answer honestly and they can see it as a possibility and maybe test it as well.
