the 27 inches cover is bigger than the 30 inches, check out the detail in this link https://content.abt.com/documents/73972/MWO-TrimKit-Specs-2016.pdf the trim kit it more for the European style of cabinet, if your opening is not exactly to the measure, you need to add wood filler to the cabinet in order to fit the trim cover. There's no perfect opening will fit this trim, and there's a small room within the bracket see the pic attached

The 27 inch refers to the outside width dimension of the trim. So, if you’re cabinet width is 28 inches, the 30 inch trim will be too big.
