I use tv remote to turn on tv & for apps other than channel selector & volume. Use cable remote to select channels & volume.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As to my experience with Comcast, to mute the sound, you have to use the remote that came with the TV. All other TV functions, except setting the aspect of the screen, can be set with the cable remote.

The other functions of the TV do not generally program to the cable remote. You can always try multiple codes in the programming process to see which one provides the most functionality.
