The option to make your screen wide is available via your remote. Play around with it. Get to know the features and what the buttons can do. Do this until you have mastered it. The remote has many many options that enable the t.v. to do many many things. If you are still having trouble figuring out how to make your screen wide call Insignia customer service and speak to them. Perhaps your remote is defective Maybe it's the television.In any event I wish u luck with your problem.
