The HDMI "Switch-Box" will not help you! Let me see if I understand your intent: You have a content source like a VHS or older technology that lacks HDMI connectivity, AND you wish to upgrade your TV while keep your original content source... I have kept all source content equipment since as far back as Laser Disc from late 70's early 80's... I think I can relate... In Today's technology, I have two 4K Samsung NU7100. One in 40" the other 58". These TV's come with connectors adapters: one is light blue with two female RCA purple/blue & red in one, a yellow three female RCA red & white + green/yellow in the second. These two adapters go on the back of the TV's on seemingly 3.5mm jacks or the ones that look like headphone jacks. They are color coded, can not screw it up if one tries... TV has settings to activate the functionality on these adapters...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using an older SD television that has no HDMI inputs and it works fine. I purchased an HDMI to RCA component converter to add an HDMI port to my television. I have been using this for about 2 years now. I recently purchased a 4 port HDMI switch so I could connect multiple HDMI devices to my SD television. I have a Blu-ray player, a Chromecast, a Roku streaming stick, and an Amazon fire stick connected and everything works fine. Make sure the converter is an HDMI input with RCA component output or it won't work. You will need an HDMI cable to connect the 4 port HDMI switch output to the HDMI input on the converter. If all of your cables are good, everything should work. The converter I purchased was a Mini HDMI to 3RCA Composite AV Converter For PC/PS3/Blue-ray DVD to RCA TV 1080P costing about $15. You can search online for a similar converter.
