We did the diagnostic online, and it instructed us to return the item to the store. It did not direct us to take it to “Geek Squad” unless specifically stated. If it says to return the item, you should take it to customer service instead of Geek Squad.

They mentioned that if you have the protection plan, they will not repair it in house as they do not have certified printer technicians. They will reimburse you for the purchase price of your printer so you can get a brand new unit from Best Buy
