“I'm looking to maybe buying the Insignia-48" Class-LED-1080P HDTV-Black. My question is, "is it a necessity to have the 'Soundbar with 39-Watt Digital Amplifier-Black?”

A SOUND BAR IS NOT NECESSARY FOR THIS TV. THE SOUND QUALITY IS REALLY GOOD AND THE VOLUME GOES ALL THE WAY TO 100. THIS TV GETS PRETTY LOUD ON ITS OWN. I COULD NOT IMAGINE ADDING A SOUND BAR, UNLESS YOU ARE USING THIS TV IN AN ACTUAL BAR.

I don't think so to me the sound is crisp and clear. If you are a big gamer or movie watcher then i would consider the sound bar. Only to add a deeper richer sound for your enjoyment. I hope this helps in your decision.

nah. i find soundbars to be junk. get something better like a 7.1 with real speakers
