Questionwhat bose (if bose at all) system should I be looking for?I'd like to purchase something in this idea for my husband for Christmas. I really know nothing about home theater systems, but am familiar with the name Bose. My husband has a Sony flat screen TV, with a DVR, and a DVD/Bluetooth device hooked up to it. He is not happy with the sound that he gets, and mentioned a sound bar, but was more enthusiastic when I mentioned Bose. I'd like it to be able to be controlled by the remote control we use (we have two - one turns the TV on, the other one changes the channels, volume, etc - COMCAST, ya know). Can someone please help me figure out which sound system I need? I'm very confused, reading about 5.1 versus 7.1 - don't even know what that means. Thanks to anyone who replies!

- Answer Hello Annie. What a great idea for a Christmas gift! From what you've described, something like our SoundTouch 120 system might be a great option. It allows you to connect external devices such as your DVR and DVD system, and supports Bluetooth for your Bluetooth device. With the included universal remote, you would be able to control all of your devices from the one control instead of two. Thanks!

QuestionIs this receiver outdated?There seems to be much better receivers manufactured by Onkyo. I couldn't even find the HT-R593 receiver on the Onkyo website to compare with their newest receivers. Is this receiver only sold with the Acoustimass® 10 Series V speaker system? I can't find the specs for it. Or is Onkyo trying to get rid of their old inventory by partnering with high quality speakers like Bose?

QuestionMoving to Asia with 220V standardsI am moving back to my country where 220V is the standard. What would be a good converter for this specific item? something that last and wont destroy the system

- Answer Hi Pete, The Acoustimass 10 Series V system is rated at 100-127 V, 50/60 Hz with a maximum power consumption of 270 watts. We don't recommend any particular brands over another but would suggest a 300w or higher step-down transformer. Thank you.

- Answer Hello, thank you for your question. Bose does not publish the wattage/power output of our speakers as this doesn't represent the true performance of the product. There are passive elements of the construction that help increase level and audio quality that are not taken into consideration alongside the wattage.

- Answer I have always used Yamaha receivers and they have been excellent and usually have all the latest surround sound decoding plus ample power per channel. Depending on what exactly you are planning to do and what features you are looking for Yamaha has an answer for you. If you are planning to do some significant upgrading and goto an 11.2 Dolby Atmos setup I would recommend the Denon AVRX6400H. I personally went to this one because the unit does not require any additional amplifiers to power all 11 channels.

- Answer For your first question, you gotta know that this is just a subwoofer and speakers. You still need to buy a receiver. Your first question is one that needs to be asked to the receiver you need to purchase. It should work with any receiver. Your second question... I don't think so. I haven't bought a surround system in a long time and it sure is different than the old one I had. The old one you have the speaker wire that hooks up from the speaker straight to the receiver. Simple. This one had me confused. So this one has special wire that plugs into the speaker using an adapter built in the wire and then that wire plugs in the subwoofer. Then it has another special cable that hooks up from subwoofer to the receiver. What hooks up to the receiver is like the old fashion (red to red,black to black). Sounds complex. Idk if pics will upload but there you can see. One pic is the connection that plugs in the speaker. The other is the connection of the subwoofer. All the color cables are the individual wirs that are coming from each speaker. Then the big black thing is the connector tthat will go to the receiver. Sorry for long explanation, and hope I wasn't too confusing. Best of luck :)

The system is compatible with any receiver that provides 10-200 W per channel, 4-8 ohms. After researching the receiver you mentioned, it seems that this should certainly be compatible! QuestionHello I have taken a Bose Acoustimass 10 Series V 5.1, last month May 2017 I has an accident and 2 speakers got dented on the front grill. how can I get the grill leveled? or is there any solution.

- Answer Hello John 123, thanks for your question. The Acoustimass 10 Series V is a 5.1 System. This means that your receiver will have two unused connections for rear speakers.
