• No. I have a Sony 4K TV and this system works fine with it. My Sony TV is even able to change the inputs automatically based on what function I want.

• No, you do not. I will work with any TV equipped with an HDMI input and stereo RCA or an optical output.

• No. I have an LG TV and the Samsung HTIB synced quite well. I can use my LG TV remote to operate both HTIB and TV.
